Consider that your morality is inherent to your character and that you do not need an intermediary to interface with God. Consider that the vast majority of your ancestors lived and died before the bible was written and christianity invented.

Having a unified set of beliefs has advantage for a community, but those beliefs have been usurped and the community is thus poisoned. I can't tell you what to think, and you shouldn't listen to me if I did. That's why I tell you to consider things instead, as with contemplation you may find something that works for you.

It won't be like everlasting blackness or nothing, because you can't experience that when you're dead. There's no point worrying about what happens to you after death, worry about what happens to your family after your death instead. Live your life how you want to live it, because it's the only one you have, and when it's done, it's done for good. Don't live as a slave to con artists.
