just tested my 3060 with new cables and its dead, jim (update)

yeah just came off from testing the 3060 with a displayport to hdmi adapter and with an 8k HDMI which has more bandwith

the thing refused to displayout so this card is dead. i was looking for a replacement and a new 3060 would be from 384 to 440 online so yeah fuck that. i might stay with my 1660 ti and wait until no longer i cant play any games on it so when the times come i should be able to buy a brand new computer with a better card.

talked to an amazon guy he will give me a refund for my now broken product. but yeah i'm gonna wait until i cannot longer play on my 1660 ti fuck nvidia

I got me an RX 440 and it's amazing. Dazzling 1080p at medium settings on my Win 7 install. You could literally play golden eye on this beast.

How long ago did you buy it? Could always check the RMA policy of the manufacturer and get something in exchange.

I had a Sapphire card arc and shoot a piece off at my face. Went through their RMA process and received a new card...which I sold off to get something made by someone else.

talked to msi and by their tone of the language i would have a hard time getting the free service that i deserve from warranty at any rate amazon its giving me a refund

i'm more sadder than you because it was 300 bucks that went down the drain in just 5 months. nah i think i'm gonna keep the 1660 until it can game no more or my pc craps out whatever happens first 🤷‍♂️

Well if you are getting the refund it's all good. More of an annoyance than anything. You might be able to find a good used card after Christmas, when many people get rid of their old stuff after getting their new computers.

i'm weary to buy used stuff but thanks for your suggestion. nah i'm going to stick with my 1660 ti until it either craps on me or i cannot longer play games on it. though i'm finding that the card is getting high in utilization in some games now whereas that wasnt the case like a year ago or so. there's always emulation when everything else fails haha

i can play some google android games with this card at top performance 🤣

i didnt do anything, it sat there on top of the slot unmolested. same for my whole system. i dont move it and i dont tinker with it.

it just stopped working chinese shit happens

you are correct, i saw some cards at a higher price this morning.

hmmm should i rebuy? part of me wants to but this experience has soured me in to getting a new card. right now i'm leaning on keeping my 1660 ti and wait it out. this card has endured 3 years of use and its showing its age but yeah i'm gonna wait just in case that my power supply was the culprit for the sudden death of my 3060. even though everything seems to work fine at the moment
