It gets played out after a few years. I went out with some friends last year even though I didn't wanna go and hated everything about it - the crowds, the lines, drunk assholes, price gouging on parking and drinks and entrance fees to get into dive bars.
Fuck all that shit. In the end you have nothing to show for it other than pics for social media points, a massive hangover and an empty wallet.
What am I doing this NYE?
-Sleeping. I worked 65 hours this week and been running on fumes all week.

I had a blast on Y2K NYE with my gf & and a bunch of people from my high school.
Warmed up with some glow bowling & arcade fun, the went to a crazy underground rave that played Drum N Bass & Breakbeat electronic music, then I went home and got screamed at by my mom and my ass beat by my stepdad because I was grounded and snuck out.

I dragged three of my oldest friends and their wives to a retreat mid month and we had a blast vegging out, smoking cigars, cooking good food and doing random shit for four days. It wasn't cheap but you can't place a monetary value on what it was worth to me; it's not often we all find time to get together anymore. Really enjoyed it. Hustle and bustle is exhausting past your 20s.
