Red hair isn't red at all. Its orange.

[ - ] UncleDoug 5 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 20:16:45 ago (+5/-0)

Orange wasnt a colour until the 1500s, ginger/orange was called geoluread (yellow-red)

Park in a driveway, drive on a parkway, can't explain that. Tide goes out, etc.

[ - ] o0shad0o 2 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 16:39:07 ago (+2/-0)

This is clearly a distraction from purple carrots.

[ - ] Clubberlang 3 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 19:22:09 ago (+3/-0)

Wasn't that the orginal color?

[ - ] o0shad0o 2 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 19:54:53 ago (+2/-0)

I think most were originally white. Not sure though.

Not sure if you're a poet, but you sure as hell can rhyme.

[ - ] Clubberlang 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 19:20:23 ago (+1/-0)

Stop that rhyme flow you about to prove a point like a needle on a syringe.

[ - ] Stonkmar 0 points 1.4 yearsJan 11, 2024 10:29:33 ago (+0/-0)

I stole the first one from Eminem. They asked him the same question and he started busting out a whole rhyme based off of 'orange'

[ - ] Clubberlang 0 points 1.4 yearsJan 11, 2024 19:54:40 ago (+0/-0)

I didn't bite. Mine came off of the top rope like the Bella twins.

[ - ] Clubberlang 3 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 19:18:20 ago (+3/-0)

No, what other word ends with ā€œangeā€ making that distinct audible sound, when pronounced correctly?
That’s what I’m looking for.

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 23:51:05 ago (+1/-0)

Orange door flange?

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 11, 2024 00:47:54 ago (+1/-0)

Wooden door flange?

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 11, 2024 07:13:31 ago (+1/-0)

Chain link. Caution: Angry bear and eagle inside.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 0 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 22:35:14 ago (+0/-0)

Nope. Missing an ā€œnā€.

[ - ] iSnark 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 11:56:33 ago (+1/-0)

O-range -> Arrange (See what I did there?)

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 2 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 12:01:20 ago (+2/-0)

Can’t stand it when people say ā€œAh-rangeā€.

[ - ] iSnark 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 12:03:10 ago (+1/-0)

Yep, Must be a New Jersey thing...

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 12:03:36 ago (+1/-0)

Probably. Those fuckers can’t speak English.

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 15:27:14 ago (+1/-0)

Standard American English (SAE) is English. All other versions are ersatz.

Spent parts of childhood in corrupted English regions like GA and PA. Was like a mild type of niggers, and had to work hard to avoid being corrupted myself.

I've lived in PA for 13 years now and most Pennsyltuckianisms still annoy me. Yous know what I mean?

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 19:31:49 ago (+0/-0)

I think I was further west, in central PA. Northish of Intercourse and Blue Ball, and close enough to the chocolate factory to smell it when the wind was from the west. East wind brought the delightful odor of cow shit from the neighbors farm.

The central Pa. dialect used today carries the harsh, guttural sound of a German speaker. It can be compared to the sound of a German speaker who learned English by listening to a Scottish person speak it.Jul 21, 2023

"Outen the lights" is more Pennsylvania Dutch, but their version of English pervades the whole South Central PA area.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 22:37:46 ago (+1/-0)

Interesting. Mrs Icemonkey is from Georgia and her Grandmother is from Pennsylvania.

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 1.4 yearsJan 10, 2024 23:03:17 ago (+0/-0)

NW Georgia, south central Pennsylvania. Any from Wisconsin?

My last winter in PA, it didn't get above 10 degrees for 22 days straight. The next November, I and gf drove across the US to the tip of Washington, then down the coast road to this town in California. Apple was making Apple IIs at the time.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 1 point 1.4 yearsJan 11, 2024 00:52:37 ago (+1/-0)

No Wisconsin. I’ve been to Medford. Window plants there, back when I did windows.
Cupertino? Thereabouts?

Purple is a kind of red.
Also, 'red' is English, and 'purple' is Latin. North Germanics were growing red onions & cabbages before they were adopting Latin words.

Darth Vader was a white man with a black accent.

Why hasn't star wars been canceled for appropriation?
