Doesn't the military boot only exist to brace the ankle against miles of hiking with a heavy pack? For all other applications it is an inferior shoe to almost any other in almost every dimension. No other professional who has to use their feet a lot wears them for that very reason. You don't see nurses or waiters running around in them because it would slow them down.

Which really show that the military is a joke. They can't be bothered to use application specific gear for the 90%+ of other activities they do, which means they aren't serious. They aren't invested in your effectiveness. They are invested in keeping you dressed up for a role playing game that is the military's collective stupidity.

And as these guys point out, even for war fighting it isn't the best. Why are you wearing a shoe designed around 5% of what you actually do? You could be faster and higher endurance if you weren't obsessed with playing soldier.
