where did the 'kike' nickname come from?

Their aversion to the + or X is why they signed their name with a 0 or O. A circle. A Kikel. Hence the Kikes.

False. I just downloaded an Algebra textbook written entirely in Hebrew and the plus sign was used.

It's the "not quite addition" operator. This one requires a transformation of the data using the Universal Hebrew Constant (=6x10^6) to get the original amount you'd normally just add, but minus something that resembles an "interest payment".
