Just listen to the whole album and Ultramega OK too. You'll get a weird impression of the band if you only listen to a selection instead of complete albums. There is a significant difference in their sound with each album. If you compared Ultramega OK to King Animal you might think it was a different band. King Animal sucks and I consider Down on the Upside to be the natural end of Soundgarden.

You need to listen to everything from Ultramega OK to Down on the Upside. Soundgarden went from metal to art/grunge, back to metal, then heavy metal and then emo pop grunge. DotU is basically the Black Album. It's okay but not what the band used to be.

That's really kind of the point of all this GenX stuff. We're getting older, times suck, i wanted a place to escape to, with folks that could relate. It's all about talking about the old times, and remembering all the cool things we did and that were around us.

Yeah I agree. We did some cool shit back then, had some good laughs and life was just starting. It kinda sucked back then as well, watching my city being degraded and filling up with 3rd world shitheads but we were young and you had friends around to take your mind off all the shit. Now not so much, for me anyways.
