It was another time, far more enjoyable than today's gaming.

Unfortunately my best friend at the time ended up joining the military and dying for the ZOG.

After Xbox we upgraded to lan parties, a friend had two spare living rooms in their mcmansion and every month hosted with a dozen of us competing in CS and magic the gathering.

Kids now days don't know what they are missing.

I hear that a lot of modern multiplayer games are doing away with the ability to chat because of players crying about hurt feelings.

About half of the appeal of playing these games as teenagers was fucking with your opposition. They're taking that away from us, creating generations of thin-skinned bitches. A young man learns to handle insults by getting them constantly from friends in sports/games.

Heh, I literally would hunt out my best friend and kill him in CS, and in MTG I would build decks to beat him specifically. It was wonderful fun to have a rival, to shit talk non-stop, and to get out aggression.

Back around mid 2000's One of my older brothers lived in a couple of huge houses with the same bunch of guys. They had the entire lounge and co-joined living room set up with like 10 or more complete gaming rigs and accessories (two screens each PC bla bla ) and literally was like walking into a gaming cafe - i used to go over every day for several months and play online etc while older bro was at work. Massive epic lan battles - good times whelp.

I miss our lan parties. We would run Ethernet cable to three different apartments in the same building and we'd have 12 of the 16 people for big team slayer all local. Each apartment would have like 6 guys in it swapping between playing and cooking food and hanging out with actual girls.

Yes, back in the day not only you interact face to face with another male on Halo night, you could interact with actual women. Video games were the opposite of isolating.

After playing a few games in multiplayer (GTA 5 online was the last) I only play single player now. It's all niggers and retards out there. On the PS4, set your MTU to around 700 and no one else enters your lobby.

Iam just pissed i missed out on Hl1 quake 1,2,3 multi in their heyday because Australia didn't have widespread broadband and the dialup was shit at my house, meanwhile my friend a few streets over got 130ping at night playing dialup online.

At least i got to go to some massive lan parties but even then all people wanted to play was counterstrike instead of arena shooters.
