Reload, reload, reload. A decent starter kit is like $250 and you'll make that back really fast, especially if you're shooting big stuff. I started out with .44 Magnum and reloading cut the cost of shooting down to about 1/4 of retail. Maybe now it's not quite as good, but you should easily save 1/2 your money. And it's fun!

I picked up the Lee Classic Turret kit. Not the best, but it's worked flawlessly for years now. No complaints.

I get that. I do. I look around the garage I'm sitting in right now and wonder what in Hell I was ever thinking taking up so many 'hobbies'.

But here's the thing! --> It's not a NEW hobby! It's like an adjunct-hobby. Or a hobby-enhancement. AND it saves money. So in one very important way it's a hobby REDUCTION.

And AND in the case of societal collapse, you would then have a way to make new friends and trade for resources.

Reloading is like a win win win win. Just saying.

I've had a few of those days myself. It's always a surprise when at the end of the day you tally up the cost. Learn to reload. I taught myself the skill some 30 years ago now and it's served me well. And if you know it and you still spent $500, well then good for you. That's truly a good day.

I knew what it would cost, but I had made changes to several of my firearms and I needed some time with them.
Reloading is one more thing on a never-ending list of to-do's.
It is important, no question, but I'm just not able to take on more right now.
Eventually I'll have no choice.

I got out to the wilderness a couple of weeks ago (that land I'm planning on developing in Nevada) and had planned on doing a bunch of shooting. But the guys I went with just ... flaked on the shooting part. So I figure I'll just go myself. I'll bring a whole shitload of guns and make sure they all work correctly. And pistols too. And maybe I'll bring the dog.

It was late and I was tired. This diagram was actually surprisingly complicated to get set up correctly. Initially I was thinking I didn't have room for anything further, but with a fresh look I see I could expand that. Thanks for calling it out.

No seriously. We learned, after my dear Aunt passed away in 2018 (Mom's sister), that my dear sweet Aunt had a son! Sadly she gave him up for adoption way back in like 1968 or whatever. We learned it because the guy found out through the original adopting doctor's office (who were also my Mom's OBGYN) who she was. Ethics and laws aside, the cat was out of the bag and he wrote to her. We're guessing she was terribly ashamed and she never answered him. Well, being the upstanding guy I am, I took it upon myself to contact him. And he's really cool! He had a different life than I did (or he would have had he grown up around here), but he's built a beautiful family and a good life and he's actually a lot like me.

So, ya. Tennessee has challenges with crazy and defective people, but I can say with certainty that my long lost cousin isn't one of them. I'd totally like to connect with him more. And if we moved out there, I expect we'd be very happy and relaxed compared to how we currently live.

You can for sure have a good journey and a shitty destination and that can make a really big difference.
