Hey look, no down votes.

Seriously though, nice tomato.

Next spring try planting your tomatos in a container.

Probably. It was just the colour of the thing that I really wanted to show.

Perk of container would be starting them early and if needed, taking them in to protect from frost later in the year.

Yeah. Don't have a lot of luck with "normal tomatoes", whether grown in pots or the ground, but the tiny ones, like in the pic, self-seed and grow everywhere and they can deliver quite a crop all up. It's just a pain needing to pick them virtually every day.

Aerogarden for your winter tomato needs.

Your leaves a yellowing. Might need to do something about that.

In Australia the tomato picks and eats you

Isn't it late fall there? How much winter does australia get?

Yes it is but there are still some tomatoes about as there haven't been any frosts. Aus gets about 3-4 months of winter.

3-4 months of winter

How often would it be below freezing, or do you live far enough south to get snow consistently?

Wisconsin / Minnesota winter is five months of cold garbage. Georgia winter skips the two worst months.

Not often (coastal climate).Winters in SEAus are lovely.Sunny mild days but the last few days has seen very heavy rain.

Do you get enough daylight in winter to try growing year-round?

[ - ] paul_neri [op] 0 points 11 monthsMay 11, 2024 09:16:48 ago (+0/-0)

Probably but never tried year round growing. Might put some in our small plastic "hot house" and see how they go.
