That's the thing about choosing to live or remain in a shitty location like Ukraine. If they ended up with no choice, the 'not smart' light begins flashing.

The Ukrainian countryside is physically idyllic in many areas, but the country as a whole was talked into murdering ethnic Russians starting in 2014. The writing was on the wall in all languages.

I have a friend in the UK who's one of those women. She's very nice in most ways, except for her beliefs about Ukraine. The brainwashing must have been pretty pervasive, because she refuses to accept things I've seen on video from the Ukrainians themselves.

The Russian Parlement authorized the recognition of the independence of the regions in the Donbass, which had been shelled by the Ukrainian government for the last 8 years and the Russians are liberating the towns where the unwanted Ukrainian forces have taken up occupation. The Donbass is no longer a part of Ukraine, and when the fighting stops, they will get to vote on joining Russia or staying independent.

Meanwhile, Zelensky has canceled the overdue elections, jailed reporters critical of him, banned churches, and has killed more Ukrainians in their forced conscription campaign than they've killed Russians in the last month.
