Yea, my brother stated that same thing - after 5 years there were other players way ahead of him that he couldn't compete against and the grind (mining, tech tree etc) was just endless.

I've never played it, but I might check it out. The MASSIVE PvP side of it peaked my interest long ago. I heard of that 21 hour PvP battle that made internet history long ago.

EverQuest, ShadowBane, and WoW were enough to consume my free time when I played.

Ah EVE Online - my oldest brother (huge massive online game nerd/ lol) played this game daily for over 5 years when it came out.
He's long moved on to other online games - he came to the conclusion that it was just too time intensive - sorry but i also dont have the hours needed to invest playing this. I'll stick to my WW2 Barbarossa.

After five jumps with no trouble, pirates web and scram the ship.

Don't do it. I lost 15 years to that game. It was fun sure, but where would I be if I'd gone outside and touched grass instead.

Also, the game just isn't what it once was. That ship has sailed I'm afraid.

Write a novel
Learn to write software
Learn how to cook
Learn how to dance
Learn survival skills
Raise children
Study geography, history, mathematics, law

All of these will build your skills and confidence over time. Videgoy games will make you weak and apathetic.

I haven't played guitar in a while due to a sprained wrist and probably rotator cuff injury.
Novel, I'd like to but know I wouldn't be able to. Software, no. I can boil water. Dance, hell no. Survival skills, I'd probably die. Kids, no, I don't like them.

I haven't played in a few years, and I didn't really know how to do much except mining, but I might be interested.

I literally mined for a corp for maybe a year or so before the corp disbanded, and then I started learning data mining before I quit.
