It seems like it was hovering, so not a moving target like a clay, but still a good shot. I'm willing to bet that shooter has a good amount of combat experience.
in the beginning of all this, the ruskies started issuing 12 guage saigas to each squad, just for this reason, but for some unknown reason, quickly deemed it impractical and stopped doing it.
Now they are back to shotguns again it seems. Time to bolt an old 870 under your rifles again...
Automatic shotguns are usually more trouble than they're worth. I think that seems to be the time-tested wisdom. I mean if you could hunt with no sporting rules, what would you use?
Well, definitely, the question is whether you can effectively put more lead down without having to pump the thing, and whether that is worth whatever complication is required for the gun to cycle itself.
And with a bead? If true that's a damn fine bit of work.
(I knew a guy that would go to the skeet range at McKellars Lodge and shoot skeet with slugs, with a Mossberg pump, with rifle sights. He hit more than he missed, and even when he missed he was close.)
Trust me. I've seen crazier. You're talking to a guy who saw an rpg pass right between me and my buddy, in one side of the helo we were running to, and right out the other side again, right past the open-mouthed face of the crew chief, and keep right on going, without hitting ANYTHING. The odds of it hitting SOME-FUCKING-THING were higher than they were for missing EVERY-GODDAMM-THING completely.
"HOLY FUCK! DID YOU SEE THAT?"
"YEAH! TALK LATER! LET'S GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!"
Big sky, little BB, and there's always more air than there is meat, but still...
I've got a KSG with Sig Romeo 5 on it. It's a tack driver with slugs.
I just wish that Kel-Tec would choose better materials because their designs are solid. James Reeves did a burndown with the KSG and parts were breaking faster than... ideal.
I would never trust a Kel-Tec for real combat, but they're fine for the house or truck.
russia announced about 4-5 months back, they were switching on the AI's for most of their drone weapons, with no human oversight. Everything but the FPV's are all 100% A.I. run and operated now. The russians just launch them and let them go... A.K.A "loitering munitions" Of course they can jump in at any time, but for the most part, they don't anymore as the enamies drones home in on the command transmition signals and counter back within minutes of the broadcasts.
Their t-90 and newer land stuff is all wired up for autonomous AI as well. In fact the AI are handling most of the fire control now on those systems. and they are deploying a vast array of land based combat drones in the last few months. (urans and markers and a bunch of pack/supply type drones and of last week, the first sighting of some sort of atv sized/kamakasi/high explosive type drone)
The ruskies also have a massive interconnected combat system similar to the west's AGIS system. All weapons and recon across the entire combat theater are hooked up to a central C&C system that the A.I. draws from and updates. and the ruskies have a global spy/recon satellite network, equal too or better then the west's, that feeds info to the C&C net
We are actually there with this stuff, but most wont or cant believe it...
With all the AI and mesh nets they're baking into everything you might not be far off. I'd bet that AI will be running factories within 10 years, probably turning out drones among other things.
How important will countries take skeet shooting as a competing sport now? If you were a proffesional skeet shooter this would be the easiest duck hunt in history
It's harder to hit anything with the AK style shotguns because the sight line No comb) is so short. It's great fun though in that if you break the clay soon enough, you now have 2 or more targets (that is, the broken clay flying through the air) which you can hit.

But not for any serious work, or competition. Mainly because the awkwardness of the reload.
Wake me up when top shooters come up with a way to start winning with that thing.

I've ordered one and plan to set it up nearly the same way. It can be used for home defense, and perhaps Pheasant-Quail, and Turkey hunting.

I imagine drones have to be small and optics, guns, and stabilizers are big and heavy.
But maybe someone smarter than I could build it.
