It's worth remembering that when they measure GDP it has nothing to do with manufacturing capability which is really the only thing that matters in a wartime scenario as they are finding out in ukraine. The fact that our medical healthcare cost 10 times more than everybody else so is counted as 10 times more GDP and our financial wheeling and dealing is counted as GDP every time money changes hands does not in the real world translate to any kind of manufacturing capability that helps anybody win a war. So when you're talking about manufacturing capability especially with them aligning with China North Korea I think they probably got in the US beaten pretty easily.

And I am not sure if the US population could be geared up as it was during World War II into a manufacturing powerhouse because the people that are now the US population are very different than the ones that existed at the time of World War ii.

I mean Boeing is a perfect example and it can't put together a plane or space capsule that flies.
