This is awesome.

Let's be real:

1. There are 1000's of copies of that website, nothing was lost.
2. If Americans haven't done jack with that info in 8 years, it's clear nothing will be done.
3. I actually think it is hilarious that the Biden admin demanded that (which seams likely). It's simultaneously ineffective and telling. This move tells the world that the Biden admin still fears something in those documents. Assange couldn't have done a better job of getting the world to look at these docs again after 8 years than by deleting them on the day of release.

Big tech has been slowly deleting the internet for a while now and creating the fishbowl effect. Literally only MSM or other approved sources are available on search browsers. Plenty of ytubers have been documentring various aspects of this.
Heck something like all 30-40% of search results from 2010 don't exist anymore - completely deleted, for one reason or another.
Now with AI it would ramp up much more quickly and effectively.

Very true. But, I'm not talking about the open 'internet' ... I'm talking about every independent journalist worth anything having a copy.

A few years ago, there was a 30GB torrent file with the entire wikileaks doc dump. I have no idea if it is still being seeded (as it seems Torrent is falling out of favor...)

Plus, I'm sure the FSB or MSS would be happy to republish this if there was something new that tied to the docs.

Ahh, gotcha, yeah .

It would not be surprising that wiping the emails was a part of his plea deal.

[ - ] BulletStopper 2 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 13:34:45 ago (+2/-0)

The intertubes is forever.

[ - ] bobdole9 0 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 13:46:24 ago (+0/-0)

True, which is why most people don't care. They're already out...what difference does it make what happens to the original source?

[ - ] BulletStopper 1 point 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 13:48:10 ago (+1/-0)

Everybody who ever wanted a copy already has one.

It looks obvious to me. They basically told him to stop exposing them, if he wants to live.

[ - ] Tallest_Skil 7 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 09:59:18 ago (+7/-0)

But they’ve been up for 8 years and no one did anything to them whatsoever.

Lock her up!

Oh right there's more money in vaxecutions.

[ - ] dass 0 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 16:46:56 ago (+0/-0)

Maybe Bc they killed everyone else (the main wikileaks founder, the main wikileaks funder, and the main wikileaks lawyer, all with about 18mths iirc) with the original passwords to permanently delete/ remove data from the wikileak servers.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 1 point 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 10:47:30 ago (+1/-0)

They can kill anyone they want anytime they feel like it. I am surprised Assange didn't get suicided. The only I can think of is that file with the so called "dead mans switch" password that is floating around out there and maybe that was his only leverage.

[ - ] ModernGuilt 1 point 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 13:19:53 ago (+1/-0)

I kinda agree even if it doesn't make sense. Just like how biden made a nonsensical border "lock down" order.

It's the same story. Claim for years the problem doesn't exist then make a dramatic and worthless declaration to fix it.

Just leaves both sides confused. It's all an act tho

A decade of isolation can destroy your mind. I'm of the opinion that Assange died in there. Whoever signed that plea deal is a broken shadow of the man.

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz 0 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 16:05:14 ago (+0/-0)

shh they want a hero that will suffer for them. dude already released info that most ppl saw and wiped their asses with.

Probably unfortunately a condition of his release.

[ - ] CasualObserver 1 point 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 12:04:02 ago (+1/-0)

If you haven't looked that shit over or downloaded it in 8 years, that's on you.

[ - ] o0shad0o 0 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 18:19:55 ago (+0/-0)

Nice. Has anyone scanned their server to check if other things have been deleted? This may just be a distraction.

[ - ] Rowdybme 0 points 11 monthsJun 26, 2024 12:16:45 ago (+0/-0)

Well was there anything interesting in there?
