It's funny how the people that always want to give advice on health always look like shit

Like lard asses who are "trainers".

Do these "journalists" not know that the "beef supply" matches demand, more or less? If there is more demand, the supply increases. Send them back to Econ 101.

I don't need any study for the obvious. When you replace goyslop with meat, eggs and veggies you see a transformation in your body composition, even without working out.

Does fish count as meat or should fish (I'm thinking mostly salmon) be avoided?

[ - ] fritz_maurentod 1 point 3 monthsJul 11, 2024 07:38:41 ago (+1/-0)

Avoid fish from fish farms and eat large fish like tuna only occasionally since they accumulate a lot of lead and other bad stuff. Small wild fish you can eat as much as you like.

I was a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 14 years and just started eating meat again 3 months ago. I feel no better or no worse than before. I have no horse in the race; just being honest.

"The study, published in the journal Nutrients, examined data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which tracked the meals of more than 10,000 adults over a 24-hour period."

This is a good thing. We don’t have the resources to feed everyone quality meat. Don’t let the masses know.

Ya know, after the last few years, I'm fine with this.

I've read through enough of this absolute garbage study to blow it out the water. In short, the study found that "people who ate a whole lot of beef on a given day account for half the total beef consumed by everyone on that same day."

Women belong in the kitchen.

All I know is my shipments from Omaha Steaks are good.

Better to buy in huge bulks from your local farmers. You can split the money with some family or friends and buy a whole cut up cow for cheaper than a few steaks.

The steaks I got from Omaha were okay, but lately I've been really enjoying the grassfed ribeyes from Aldi for $12/lb. If I want to treat myself, a local butcher has steaks for 2-3x the price that can be better, but the Aldi meat is solid. Aldi also has grassfed 85/15 ground beef for $5.50/lb and its damn good.

I haven't yet tried costco's meat but I hear good things, and sometimes they mislabel top notch marbled steaks for a low price. One day I'm going to drive to the nearest civilization and get try some.
