We need a Wi-Fi jammer detector that sends a notification that basically someone is breaking in. After all that's the point of the cameras, to notify you. Many cameras have SD cards so you will still have a recording, as if that will help with the nigger-loving legal system.

If recording locally to a DVR/NVR you can set it to alarm when there is a loss of signal.

Loss of signal will cause a notification from standard systems. Not an alarm, though. I'm not sure what detecting a jammer would amount to, other than loss of signal. I'd be interested to know, though.

I assume it's some wideband noise with high power. I bet someone familiar with SDR (software-defined radio) could program some standalone Raspberry Pi module to detect it and feed an alarm signal to the system (act like a door/window switch).

You could, but I still don't think you need all that. You could just program a rule that if a lot of the wireless sensors lose contact at once it sends an alarm through the wired connection.

It's just kind of using the definition of jamming, right?

For instance, if someone carried one just past my front door: They'd interrupt at least the door sensor and the base unit's wifi connection (since they're both at the door). If they came in through a window, they'd interrupt at least one window sensor but probably a lot -- this jamming sounds kind of indiscriminate. One sensor malfunction sends me a ping. 2 might do whatever an alarm is. I don't know if you can set it to call the police, but you can set it to send a push notification to your whole family, and hopefully someone does the right thing.

The police are kind of useless anyways

Or just have a redundant system with tape reels

"Security" based on WiFi? Also, if you're leaving your valuable stash of worldly goods for an extended period, finding a trusted person to guard your stash is a thing.

Old alarm systems were wired. But I think all the new ones are some kind of wireless. You could try to jam whatever band those use, but then you'd have to jam all the wifi bands and that.

This is why PoE cameras are superior.

Exactly. I’m so damned sick of batteries. I refuse to buy anything that isn’t wired anymore.

PoE Masterrace

Fortunately I have guns, so photographs of the perpetrators won’t be necessary after the event.

don't forget to take your artillery with you in case someone breaks in while you're away

Lol thats smart but also why cctv with tape based storage is king
