I use firefox with adblock cause fuck the internet jews. When I click on a post linked to catbox I get the error below. It works on chrome but fuck google. I can't figure it out. I've cleared cache and history, disabled adblock and put catbox in my trusted sites. Idk. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks faggots.
Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to files.catbox.moe. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

It is an intentionally redesigned, de-googled version of Chrome that is more secure than any other browser out there... EVEN ON IT'S DEFAULT SETTINGS. Add to this it blocks all ads and pop ups without clicking a single option after being installed. ZERO ads on Youtube.com
It can be locked down even further if you choose to do so.
Its compromised at its core. That's why brave gets fucked by things like manifest v3. Chromium was developed by Google to fingerprint users for advertisers. That's the purpose of Chromium.
Beside that, Brave is chromium with a skin and built in adblocker. Chromium with a couple of addons is superior to Brave in virtually everything.
Mozilla does not have a good reputation, however between the only two mature browser engines Gecko is much nicer to the user. There's one or two other working browsers that use their own engines but they don't work with some sites and only have a few addons.
With that in consideration, the only choice is a gecko browser. Firefox builds can be tamed with a user.js from github or you can roll with something like Librewolf, Floorp, or Mercury
Not seeing your specific error, but some ISPs and browsers think catbox has malware.
As for adblock, uMatrix lets you control every page element sites try to load onto your computer. You can give general permissions, or get as 'fiddly' as you want.
if you really want to see the pic until its fixed click on the link and then replace cat with fat. pain in the ass i havent tried it with video yet.been having problems with since yesterday and tried this today.
You're definitely right there's some weird shit going on with catbox links. I think it has to do more with browser compatibility and VPN usage.
Sometimes, I can click the links and it works flawlessly. Other times, I can't get the links to work at all. Most of the time when the links don't work, I can select to open the link in a private tab and the link works after that.
I have been using Brave browser with a bunch of custom anti-tracking apps and plugins. I'm also running a pretty expensive VPN. I'm starting to narrow down on the regions that the VPN is using as the main cause of links for catbox not working. Certain regions are too slow for catbox to load and they don't work if the VPN slows down the connection speed too much.

Ideally though, you'd have a way to get it working instead of disabling it.
Maybe try switching providers for DNS over HTTPS?
If you set it to strict/max/whatever, it should display an error message letting you know it wasn't able to resolve the domain name.

I had about 3-4 weeks of catbox not working on my phone using the Brave browser, but it just started working again a few days ago.
It was telling me the SSL certs were bad previously too.

ipconfig /flushdns
You may need to be running it in admin mode. Restart your computer for good measure.
