My neighbour from across the street hosts a private server. He let me play Rust on his gf steam account to try it out.
The graphics, i played it on ultra, just breathtaking. He gave me admin powers to just spawn whatever i needed so i build without restrictions. Man, just lighting a torch on a wooden wall, so cool. The electricity part is interesting and easy to learn. Just a torch and a stone, trying to survive, eating berries and mushrooms, lucky to find a pumpkin.
Now i am drawn to some game where i can build, i did space engineers creative mode solo. Just me and my imagination. Sometimes intens, but enough periods of hardly working on a project.
I played over 12 hours of Rust everyday in the first week. When i came online on his server he and a friend of him where allready there. After a week i left his server to try a server with lots of people on it. To get to know the gameplay. 245 hours in the last 2 weeks according to my Steam stats.
I had a nice big farm base going on, lvl3 workbench, worked hard yes.
There are so many thing that need to be done, urgently. Now i joined a server without decay killing or raiding, pure PvE. So my build could not be destroyed. The guy i played with also had 240 plus hours in 2 weeks.
This kind of gaming is not for me, once i start i can't stop anymore, those barrels and crates are like opening presents. a little kick everytime. And they are a big part if not the central part of the game
Some have 20k hours in Rust, no one had that in Space Engineers im sure. Hell you can learn to play guitar in 300 hours, get a real education with 4000. I wised up to it, who would pay 13 dollar to make an allready cool looking stone wall look "even better" other than an addict?
This game is one BIG dopamine rush. So i opened my base, broadcasted my door codes, logged off and deleted Rust from my computer. This game is too addictive for my tastes,
Rust is a drug that takes your life without killing you.
I had a stint with "Feed The Beast"...IIRC it made Redstone wiring wonderfully useful. Colored light block factories were my thing...until the chests overfilled and gave me about five frames a minute.

Surprisingly I had a similar problem with Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town. Starts out pretty basic but gets very complicated later. Would tell myself just one more day (in game) over and over. You even practice eugenics!

I CAN SLEEP TOMORROW NIGHT.
There are amazing changes from the indev era, but sadly enough they added a lot of 'cutsie' elements aimed at the children market. Can still be fun with a good texture pack and mod combo.
Or mountain biking, I love mountain biking. Or skydiving, skating, tactical shooting practice, free-for-all paintball... There's a shitload of stuff other than computer games. Unfortunately, they all cost a lot more money and you have to go out to do them, something a guy just back from work doesn't want to do.
o yeah, i wasted 235 hours in total on that game. Sad feeling. It was my first time playing a game like that. I want to build, create, have a project with a beginning. I could stop at anytime pick up weeks lateer, but Rust players rack up 10k hours or much more in just a few years. Just really life wrecking, omg
Sounds like me and TF2 back in the day. Endlessly shooting buddies and talking shit. It was an alternative to socializing at a bar while getting out aggression.

Cold plunge doesn't have the negative dopamine low which is why I like it. It is great for cardio and burns tons of calories. You lose weight fast and eat like a machine.

In a way yes. The way he sat, he sat on his right leg folded. Over time it pushed a nerve to the far right of his leg causing the issue. One of those things were the doctor will tell you to stop doing it and it'll correct itself. He's fine now of course.
Bought it for cheap a couple years ago, but could only do an hour or so. Have been slacking on gaming lately, but this post got me to pull out the PS4 and play some GTA5 last night.
Is more like a vacation from the usual browsing and commenting. I've been considering going back to gaming for awhile, since the news and crap on the internet is the opposite of fun and enjoyable.
I have one of Bills covidhoax machines (windows) with a ton of games I've barely played. As usual, it needs some kind of tinkering to get it to work, unlike the Mac. Have the new Mac too, but lots of games only for the windows OS.

Cities Skylines is fantastic. Takes a lot of time to learn and can be very difficult in later population densities if you don't plan ahead. It's like Simcity on steroids.

JUST FIVE MORE MINUTES.
I can only imagine the things they did since I touched it last 10 years ago.

If you want a dopemine rush, try a cold plunge or just a regular cold bath. 100/10

A friend invited me to play Ark. requested a refund after a hour. It was another minecraft clone.
But hey, Resident Evil 1 every other year or so and I’m good. Not really a gamer.
