I'm old enough to remember back when fighting in the armed forces of another country was grounds for losing your citizenship.
As previously stated a week ago, there's a great big fucking difference between HAVING F-16's and OPERATING F-16's in combat.
And I quote: "Given Ukraine's current remaining population of military age males, what percentage of them do you think are even MINIMALLY qualified to just hop into a multi-million dollar multi-role supersonic fighter aircraft and fly it effectively in combat?"
Guess we all know the answer to that one now, huh?
Anybody that was capable of operating a multi-million dollar, multi-role fighter aircraft (and already currently drawing retirement pay) has already been through a long weeding-out process that was specifically designed to eliminate idiots early and often.
Guessing they're not going to get a lot of takers at this late stage of the game, especially in light of the fact that Russia has:
1) Already established air dominance in the region, and this,
Not to mention there is a big fucking difference between being tasked to defend Ukrainian airspace (that you already don't control) and attacking targets inside Russian territory.
So. Who would like to be end up in a Russian POW camp? For a fight that has fuck all to do with the US? Any volunteers?
A good bit of veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan ran to help Ukraine, until they got there and realized they weren't fighting against untrained and under equipped third world goat herders like in the middle east.
One story I saw was about a group of US vets that went to Ukraine to fight. Russia hit their building with a precision missile and immediately sent in an attack helicopter to finish off the survivors. The guy telling the story said he barely escaped, immediately returned to America and began pleading with others to not go.
There is a big difference in policing medieval sand niggers and fighting and/or being hunted by a first world majority White army.
if you're not serving anymore it's not against the law to fight on behalf of another government as long it's not a designated terrorist organization or adversary
It's true, and in fact we should be strongly counselling all supporters of the former Ukraine to put their bodies where their mouths are (eg. In a shallow grave in the former Ukraine!)

"If you're a retired F-16 pilot and you're looking to fight for freedom, they will hire you here [Ukraine],"
-US Sen. Lindsey Graham, in comments made just after meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

I've never seen a contract gig yet that stipulated that getting smoked was part of the "statement of work". Not enough money in the world.
Remember what happened to all of those Brit and American "freedom fighters" that ran to Ukraine in the beginning?
They took one look around, and either bailed or died.

Will there be an appeal process?
You have to stop talking about our system like it works.
