Huzzah! With this hard drive @master_foo's extensive hentai collection, mostly a combination of tentacle fantasies and butt stuff, is saved!

What am I going to do with it?

I just looked, I have a 1TB and am using 1.4% of it. EVERYTHING that is "important" to me.

How sad am I now? I NEED MOAR STUFF..........

Damn, I think my frog meme folder alone is bigger than that.

need a drive for my cam system, but I'm not spending that much. $80 for a refurb 12tb should do

If your system has the space/connections, get more than one.

[ - ] Kozel 0 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 20:26:45 ago (+0/-0)

I need to open it and see. I think its just going to be one. Typical DVR. Haven't opened it yet need to lay my network first.

What model is it? IIRC even the cheap Hikvision dealies can do two drives these days.

That's a re-badged Hikvision system. Hikvision is good for the price, just very quirky in places. But the NVR should support two drives, although I think you're limited to 8tb each.

LOL, it's a good joke.
But truth be told, I've never been much of a data horder.

7/10

does it come pre-loaded with the hentai / butt stuf ? i mean, asking for a friend.

[ - ] uvulectomy 2 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 19:58:42 ago (+2/-0)

The more you put on one drive, the longer and more painful it is to create or restore backups.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 22:23:26 ago (+0/-0)

Mirrored drive array.

[ - ] TheYiddler 0 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 05:55:07 ago (+0/-0)

Raid is not a backup. It's helpful, but don't rely on it. Two drives from the same lot very often fail within days of each other.

[ - ] uvulectomy 0 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 22:28:55 ago (+0/-0)

The bigger the array, the longer the rebuild time. Unless it's just a straight up mirror, which is also a horribly inefficient use of hardware.

sounds like you're just lazy

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 01:13:51 ago (+0/-0)

Eh, it works.

[ - ] Kung_Flu 3 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 08:27:34 ago (+3/-0)

45% off? No one is paying $700 for 20TB. That list price is fake and the "sale" is a kike trick.

I personally don't recommend buying Seagate hard drives.

[ - ] v0atmage [op] 1 point 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 18:13:58 ago (+1/-0)

Care to elaborate? I've had them before and generally didn't have issue with them, but I usually get WD.

[ - ] GrayDragon 2 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 20:49:16 ago (+2/-0)

"... but I usually get WD."

Yeah, the WD (42% off) is only $40 more and has double the cache:

Damn now I want that instead. Could still cancel my order...

[ - ] Her0n 2 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 00:11:08 ago (+2/-0)

Seagates run close to "too hot" on average. If your case is already running hot, these drives start having major issues.

[ - ] GrayDragon 0 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 07:28:19 ago (+0/-0)

Cancel it. What is wrong with that?

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking -1 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 22:58:27 ago (+0/-1)

I find them difficult to format beyond 2TB. They recommend using their proprietary software to go beyond that limit. I returned an 8TB drive for that reason and bought a WD drive because I didn't have to fuck with it to make the BIOS just simply recognize it. Also, I've never had to return a WD drive for drive failure. In my experience, they have superior drive longevity.

Cool anecdote, faggot

I've had bad experiences with all HD brands. Seagate's been known good for the last five years.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking -1 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 23:00:39 ago (+0/-1)

I'm happy for your experience. It's just never been my experience. But good luck to you! Different strokes and all that.

[ - ] Spaceman84 -1 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 11:17:27 ago (+0/-1)

Anecdotal. Not statistically significant.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking -1 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 13:55:57 ago (+0/-1)

I said it was my opinion, you asshole. Why are you being such a contentious jew? Go fuck yourself. You're one of the reasons voat is such a shithole.

[ - ] Spaceman84 -1 points 8 monthsAug 20, 2024 14:50:40 ago (+0/-1)

Morons like you are a bigger drag on this site and society as a whole. I wish it weren’t necessary to police retards like you.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 0 points 8 monthsAug 20, 2024 20:26:02 ago (+0/-0)

Good bye, faggotron.

Seagate does better than the rest in the rankings. Toshiba too.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking -1 points 8 monthsAug 18, 2024 22:59:36 ago (+0/-1)

The rankings are paid for.

[ - ] Spaceman84 -1 points 8 monthsAug 19, 2024 09:28:59 ago (+0/-1)

Cope. You’re a faggot.
