I just had a conversation with my mother last week, speaking of the old days on the farm north of Edmonton Alberta when she was young back in the 1930s, every kid, girls and boys, carried a .22 rifle, mostly knocking off gophers and stray nuisance cats...even she can't believe how stupid the world is today.
