I go grocery shopping and the only lanes are self checkouts.
I bought a leather couch online which said "some assembly required" which I assumed meant connecting the back and screwing on the legs - not "full assembly required" and also get it delivered in 2 separate boxes with the second getting delayed for 4 days. Then the middle load-bearing leg snapped off as I was putting the couch together which took me over an hour by myself.
Bought a coffee table off Walmart's website which was on sale for 60% off but didn't say anything about putting it together. Well, sure shit it's a build-it-yourself with 20 parts and 140 screws, nuts & bolts. It's been sitting completely disassembled in my living room for almost a month.
I don't have the time or energy to do all this shit. I work a pretty physical job & on my feet all day and I'm pretty worn out after my shift. I'm in my 40s so I'm naturally tired and don't have much energy, and my weekends pretty much consist of me sleeping 10-12 hours on Sat/Sun. I'm honestly getting fucking fed up with life altogether. Everything is 10 times worse than before the lockdowns. I don't need to explain everything, we're all living through it. Every single aspect of life has gotten worse, no matter how small or insignificant. And no, I'm not having a "midlife crisis" or burnt out - I already had a breakdown in my mid-30s after my fiance broke off our engagement to move to Vegas to do porn and ended up dying of an accidental fentanyl overdose 2 years later. I wasted 10 years of my life with that bitch, several break-ups and getting back together.
Sorry for the rant. I gotta leave for work in 15 minutes...
EDIT Before anyone says I'm lazy or not trying hard enough - I work at a metal casting/foundry as a cleaner. I sweat my ASS OFF EVERY SINGLE FUCKING DAY REGARDLESS IF IT'S WINTER. I get paid decently with benefits & 401k.
But I live in a mid sized city filled with blacks, mexicans & middle east islams/muslims. My coworkers are pretty much equal White guys, blacks & hispanic. My COUNTY is also pretty much divided into 3rds like that, with middle easterns trying to worm their way in but no one really wants them here because this is a Christian majority area. So now there's a pretty big backlash from the muslim & islamic communities trying to weasel their way into our lives with big money from other countries. And the odd/funny part about it is that they're living and opening businesses & mosques near our airport which is obviously causing our locals to blame them for 9/11 & also sell their homes & move out because locals don't want to be around these people. I've been watching this slowly happen for the last 20 years or so because I grew up in that area.
There should be an agency that takes your information and applies to jobs in your name, so that all you have to do is just wait to receive the notification that a job interview has been scheduled for you, show up to the interview, land the job, and go to work at it.
Such an agency could make a profit off of the paychecks of those whom they had landed employment for, or they could get paid by the companies they had secured new employees for.
Dude it's been awful. I have a job but they are not loyal to the good workers who have been there for a while. I've had like 10 interviews this year and 7 offers and all fall through for no reason explained. I've been studying and putting in so much work to get a new position. Internally and externally.

Also, the economy is in a silent depression right now. Jobs are difficult to impossible to find during one of those. Even shitty, life/body destroying ones.
I went to a grocery store that said they closed at 10:00 p.m. so I'm shopping around and I don't know 9:30 I pull up to the counters looking for somebody to check out my cart full of groceries and what they failed to mention was that it's all self-service after 9:00 p.m. well I wasn't about to bring up all that stuff in my cart myself with no one to help bag it so I just walked away left it all right there in the cart and said no not going to do it. So I imagine the number of personnel it took for them to replace all those things on the shelf not to mention the stuff that was refrigerated like meat that had to go back or be spoiled probably took more personnel than if they had just kept one check out lane open which is all they needed that late at night.
The opposite happened to me the other week. Went to Winco for some food stuff, the self-check gets turned off at midnight. It was 12:01.
Went to the one checkout lane and I had to wait behind 2 darkie spics full of tatoos and the bitch was well over 250lbs. Took ages for them to get through their two carts.
I still remember when they paid. Thing said $352 EBT. Mine was $8.50.
I don't mind the DIY stuff. I've done that stuff all my life. Only takes a few minutes to an hour to put together one of those chinesium furniture pieces.
It's everything else about being in my 40's that sucks ass. The modern era of heeb-owned everything really needs to end.
Don't shop at shitty stores, especially 'conventional grocery stores'.

If you want to have any level of 'wealth', owning a business is going to be one of your foundations. Get your failures and missteps out of the way while you're still young. You would have to have some level of belief in yourself though.

I'm tired of people like you saying that my generation is lazy. We never had a fucking chance and were fucked from the start. I was born with serious medical problems and needed emergency surgery after I was born. I spent the first 5 weeks of my life in an incubator. My dad died when I was 2. My mom remarried when I was 6 and that asshole was an Vietnam vet who was a serious abusive alcoholic. It was so bad that my paternal grandparents gained custody of me for 4 years while my mom sorted her life together. My grandfather was pretty much my dad and taught me a lot, old school work ethic and upbringing. I started my first job at McDonald's at 14, worked there for 3 years and quit just before ny senior year so I could focus on graduating because my grades were pretty bad because of work, band practice, skating and school was my last priority. I graduated by the skin of my teeth. Then 3 months later I watched 9/11 happen live on TV and watched my future literally crumble before my very eyes. Then both of my grandmother's died within 5 weeks of each other. Then my high school sweetheart broke up with me and military recruiters were visiting my home. That's just the basic summary of the first half of my life. Fucked from the beginning with almost zero hope for the future after 9/11.

As the son of a trucker I watched the "self checkout" bullshit start at the warehouse docks and evolve through the entire delivery system all the way to the end user/customer. When I was still in a car seat on the passenger side of my father's diesel the driver did exactly that, drove the truck. Dock workers unloaded everything and signed for it, then off you go. By the time I was old enough to be allowed into the warehouse with him the rules changed to the driver is responsible for unloading the freight. Then it became the driver is responsible for breaking down and sorting the freight or they can hire lumpers from the dock to do the work. After that it was sorted freight needed to be taken to certain parts of the warehouse. These days many vendors are responsible for stocking the fuckin' shelves themselves inside the goddamn stores. Self checkout is just the final stage of making everyone else do the work so Jews can cut back on labor expenses and pocket more money for doing less
Even 30 years ago we sorted the groceries on the conveyor so they get bagged in a sensible manner. The cashier doesn’t have time to sort it if you don’t group your items together in any way.

It irritates me beyond reason that, even while lining up items on the conveyor appropriately, the mouth breather just select a few at random and dumps them into the plastic bag. Nothing ever organized, straightened, or sitting upright...just done as fast as they can.
I arrange how I want the items bagged on the conveyor belt. Do you know what i have seen some cashiers do now?
