ive got several issues but theyre kind of difficult to get around at the moment, for a start they have a near monopoly simply because they also sell (which leads to issue number 2) other publishers stuff, and that publisher also requires you to use... their damn launcher, and often no matter how many games you get from either of their 'libraries' they still shit themselves randomly and dont talk to each other, leaving you in a state of 'you dont own the game you own sorry' or telling you you have to get online, to play a game offline, or it wont work (issue 3) - the vast majority of people go straight for steam as if they want something, its gonna be there, in one place, with a shitload of other games, from all sorts of other publishers, fuckin shit like epic games store, or rockstar... then it gets real fucked when you buy a games for windows live title which fucks you harder.

it started when walking into a brick and mortar store riiiiiiiiiiight at the start of steam existing, thinking the box was light and theyll put the disc in, getting it home, and finding a fucking steam redeem code instead of a book and a disc, with no indicator on the box at all that it was a download only... in days you paid by the megabyte for data and specifically went to a store to NOT have to do that, and ive had bad codes that had already redeemed which were 100% not the brick and mortar store at fault, that theyve had to pay for, because steam just throws up their hand and says 'you should only buy from reputable retailers' (JB is about as reputable as you get, steam are the cunts here.

then theres trying to install and run the damn titles you own from some kind of backup without using steam at all (which is my right) that brings on all kinds of other shitty issues...

those cunts absolutely start off dodgy and have continued to be dodgy in one way or another for their entire existance... and yet ive got what... 100 or so titles, most of which ive bought faaaaaaaaaaaaar less than normal retail price on special, or im just specifically buying 'licenses' for games ive already downloaded installed and finished then thought 'yeah that was actually a finished game, i should pay for it' as opposed to 'fuck this fucking $120 garbage ill give you $20 in a couple of years.

steam is crack for gamers. it fucking rapes you and makes you sick every time you touch it but you still spend the majority of your time on it.
