Wondered the same thing. After looking it up, it stands for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, which is just another way of saying livestock factory farming.
Be careful of the acronym CAFOs. They started with Concetrated Animal Feed Operations, which has a bad connotation from the name and show you monsanto-type farming rigs to get everyone on board. Now, they use the term (especially Oregon if I recall) to encompass anyone with more than one chicken and requiring coops have ridiculous setups like requiring cement floors among other things. So, the term is now used to attack local and small farmers and be a land grab.
All good and necessary ideas. Anyone have good, inexpensive water filtration system they recommend? The distiller we've been using for years has crapped out and I'm looking to replace it but don't have a lot of extra cash right now. We only filter drinking water so needs to do just a few gallons a day. Using a Brita right now and it sucks.
And ban consumer wireless radiation devices like Wifi and cell phones.
The only one that was worth a damn was Berkey water filters. The government got very angry that they used silver in their filters because they don't believe silver has beneficial health effects.
Apparently they don't like claims they haven't approved.
"Without any administrative process, the EPA used its regulatory authority to classify the company's gravity-fed mechanical water filters as pesticides under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) due to its incorporation of silver."
