I think they think they have figured out flaws in the design. They think good people are larping. They don't realize that good people have figured out something completely different. I think goodness arises when you see the flaws in the design as hints. Self denial and accepting death are a big part of it. Since they can't accept the big picture they don't want their small picture to end. Especially the ones that can't accept aging.
