This is also not the reason. Old men have always died younger than old women of natural causes. Male animals in the wild live shorter lives than females. It has to do with life strategies which differ from males to females, within the context of evolution. Youthful vigor paradoxically comes with a penalty in terms of life-span. Animals with more aggressive reproductive strategies ( e.g. increased intrasexual competition) will be more vigorous in youth and burn out sooner. See my other comment where I reference r/K selection theory. To oversimplify, you have too much muscles and you are too big. Stop playing the victim here. This is just mother nature.

Males pursue ‘r’ strategy relative to females — live fast, die young, have lots of babies, invest lower levels of care per offspring. High risk/high competition reproductive strategy. You are biologically programmed for shorter lives.

Well high iron may increase oxidative damage. Men tend to consume more meat which has a lot of iron. I don’t think most adults should be supplementing it.

But increased muscle mass is probably the major factor here. It incurs a penalty in terms of longevity. Low body mass is the best strategy for longevity, unless you have to fight for survival. Don’t bleed yourself guys. Just eat fish or something. Don’t bulk up too much. Those ripped body builders dont live a long time.
