These attacks were only moderately successful. But they were ill-conceived and non-military in both concept and execution. The sort of shit that the "Coke Bottle Lens" crowd in intel come up with because they think it would clever, not the kind of thing that wins wars.
1) Israel still doesn’t seem to have grasped that most of the world ALREADY considers it to be a genocidal terrorist state due to the Gazacaust. The trivial amount of military damage, combined with the very high probability of collateral damage, and the complete indifference to civilian casualties make this an obvious act of terrorism. Or maybe they just don't give a shit. Either way...
2) There will be several unintended consequences: a) Who in their right mind is going to buy any israeli products now? There is zero chance of anyone in that region ever buying any israel-connected electronic products in the future.
b) Hezbollah’s leadership had already wanted their fighters to stop using mobile phones. This mass attack on pagers just reinforces that and further reduces the likelihood that their people will violate opsec in the future. And there goes a potentially huge rich intel source.
(This should also puts a stake through the heart of "transhumanism". Only a complete moron would agree to put a chip in their hand, or in their head, knowing that there is a non-zero chance that someone may have the ability to make it explode.)
Israel demonstrated the importance of controlling the supply chain. China is setting us up in electronic warfare. Nearly every personal computer has some gatcha game, epic games, or discord installed, and all of them can activate at a moment's notice to cripple our economy. And that's only the entertainment vector. They're doing hardware attacks too.
Hi inaminit. To celebrate our long-standing friendship as Voat debaters I'd like to give you a small present of a pager or walkie-talkie? Which would you prefer?
