My I never was an alcoholic or crazy drug user story.

submitted by Crackinjokes to TellUpgoat 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 18:48:26 ago (+13/-4)     (TellUpgoat)

Look more power to the people who quit but as most of us feel we all kind of get tired of hearing about people patting each other on the back for stopping the really stupid habit that they got into in the beginning.

So here's my story about not overdoing it with alcohol or drugs.

I never did drink until I was an idiot. A couple of times I drank more than I should and I realized I drank more than I should the next day so I started to set limits on myself realizing that hey you know what if I drank more than two drinks I might start having problems so I go and I have two drinks and they taste good and I don't go crazy over them and I don't do anything else and I don't think about them if I'm going for months at a time and I don't make it the center of My universe and I don't feel the need to go talk to other people about why I drink or don't drink because guess what I understand that if I drink too much it's going to cause me all kinds of problems so I don't do it.

Same thing with drugs.

since everybody else is posting there oh I feel so good about myself because I stopped being a stupid fucking idiot and drinking too much and doing too many drugs I just thought that for all the rest of us who have not done that stupidness I would post a little story too.

Now I expect great praise and support from all of you.

You know a lot of people here have been shunned by the majority of society due to seeing things clearly and thinking critically. They've been mocked, ridiculed, a lot gave family division.

Maybe, telling a group of internet users who you actually fit in with that you've made big leaps towards improving yourself... The same group that probably helped nudge you in the right direction...

The more stories we hear the stronger our little community becomes.

TL;DR Get fucked little man

It's good to celebrate victory from Jewish vices I agree

[ - ] 15MAR 1 point 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 22:21:34 ago (+1/-0)

Any victory against Clown World should be celebrated, no matter how small, for all are part of the larger battle. We should hold up our fellow Whites whenever they take the eugenic path instead of the dysgenic one.

[ - ] Fishsticksforever 1 point 7 monthsSep 23, 2024 00:45:13 ago (+1/-0)

I started drinkin because I didn't fit in with my peers sober, I was too smart and inquisitive. I learn to drink to be a fucking reetard like them... They accepted me until I started talking about shitskins and fake joos.

Ah well, it was good while it lasted, now I'm a drunk hermit with my best companion on her death bed. Fuxkin niggers.

For me, it took a long time to "wake up" to the problem of alcohol. My uncle was a very bad alcoholic, so I got to see firsthand what can happen. I worked at a place that sold liquor- people would be at the door when we opened at 9am waiting for their pint of liquor. People would return, sometimes multiple times a day, to get their fix. But I wasn't anything like that.

I was a happy drunk. I was fun, I was intimate with my husband, I had great times with my friends. I had long, late nights, singing songs and enjoying my life. I went to work, I had a husband and kids. Mama deserved to have her relaxing time. I was NOTHING like my uncle, who drank bottles of cheap Popov/Dubra and turned into a spiteful and mean man.

But slowly things began to change. I would have a bottle of wine every night. I would sometimes forget a movie I watched. I would sometimes forget falling asleep. I would sometimes forget I was intimate with my husband. But I was still having fun, right? No harm, right?

I cut back. Only drinking when I had my period, for pain relief for a day or 2. Then why not drink the whole week? Then eventually why not most nights? We were having fun!

It was a long road to realize that my drinking had to stop. Now I'm sober, I'm still having fun. I remember more. I have dreams at night. I wake up well in the morning (when I don't stay up to 2am on the internet).

I'm very happy that you were able to figure out the dangers of alcohol early. I do believe we all have our own unique path of learning, and you passed this test quickly and easily. Sincere congratulations.

I never tried a cigarette. I've never had a cup of coffee. To me- those were vices I knew I never wanted to try. I'm thankful that I never started- but I also recognize that those that were addicted to those and gave them up have a lot of willpower, strength, and fortitude.

I think anytime we make good choices, we ought to be thankful. :)

No two people's brain chemistry is alike. Chemicals and life conditions affect people differently. For some, the draw of an easy escape and/or physical addiction is overpowering, especially if that person is metaphorically at rock bottom.

The mentality behind your post has some teeth to it. Hard truth, yeah, but that makes it tougher for damaged people to reach out to vent or seek help. Not everyone has the same brain chemistry, life conditions, and inherent fortitude you do. Congratulations for having above-average willpower. @Lost_In_The_Thinking said this in fewer words.

Every time I quit drinking, I did it in silence and only talked about it after the fact, and usually in a way that would encourage someone else. Spare the pat on the back and keep those grubby hands to yourself.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 5 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:57:25 ago (+5/-0)

I'm a private man and generally keep my private life to myself and off the message boards, but I made an exception in talking about my quitting drinking because it was so significant and so difficult, and anyone who's done the same can understand. Like you, I wanted to give encouragement to those who had also done so and to those who were considering doing so. Not everyone on Voat drinks to excess, and I wanted to express that point.

[ - ] yesiknow 0 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 22:05:44 ago (+0/-0)

Tell yourself you are damaged and watch you damage yourself.

[ - ] registereduser -2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 20:44:51 ago (+1/-3)

You are an idiot. The so called "addict" and "alcoholic" has stronger will power than anyone. Lack of will power is not their problem.

You are talking about people who went back for more despite:

God awful hangovers.
Black eyes.
Various other injuries.
Getting arrested for stupid.
Getting arrested for more stupid and losing license.
Getting arrested many times for stupid, rinse repeat.
Paying many thousands in fines and assorted other fees for said arrests.
Getting dumped by wife.
Losing jobs.
Losing property.
Losing friends and family.
Losing their health.
Losing everything.

and on, and on, and on and still they go back for more.

That is the definition of will power.

Take your faggot Bill Wilson psycho babble and go kill your self.

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 3 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 21:18:04 ago (+3/-0)

You immediately contradict yourself by saying lack of willpower is not the problem, followed by listing things the very things that define addiction. Addiction is physical and mental; that is not "psychobabble". Willpower is exactly what it takes to overcome each of those problems. How people attain the drive to better themselves is up to them.

You don't like those 2 cents? Don't care. Go fuck yourself with a pinecone.

[ - ] registereduser -2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 22:17:11 ago (+1/-3)

Tell me you went to public school without telling me you went to public school.

You have the reading comprehension of an inbred nigger that survived a gunshot to the head. AKA, typical 12 step cult retard.

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 3 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 23:11:23 ago (+3/-0)

Never went to AA and came to these beliefs on my own. My reading comprehension is just fine. You said that people couldn't overcome your list of things through willpower? Stop seething and enlighten us on how they do, faggot.

Not like you deserve this response to your ineffectual rage-bait, but here goes: First two years were public school, three private, one homeschool, skipped straight to seventh in public, dual enrolled at the local tech school during junior and senior. I assume you had no schooling at all.

[ - ] registereduser -3 points 7 monthsSep 23, 2024 00:39:07 ago (+0/-3)

You have no reading comprehension at all. That is not what I said at all.

You did not come to your cult beliefs on you own, maybe you didn't go to AA, which I doubt very much, but either way your mind is poisoned with the their puke.

Go learn to read.

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 2 points 7 monthsSep 23, 2024 00:49:46 ago (+2/-0)*

Lack of will power is not their problem.
Okay?

You are talking about people who went back for more despite:
Yeah, and also those that didn't. What's your point?

(list of bullshit)
So you start with a premise and then fail to address it?

Answer the simple fucking question, asshole: "You said that people couldn't overcome your list of things through willpower? Stop seething and enlighten us on how they do, faggot."

[ - ] 15MAR 3 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 22:34:29 ago (+3/-0)

and on, and on, and on and still they go back for more.

That's not willpower. That's slavery.

They don't chose to do this, their genes predispose them to addiction.

In the same way, those that resist have genes that predisposed them to quitting or not partaking in the first place.

[ - ] registereduser -2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 23:07:15 ago (+0/-2)

Stupid nigger victim.

[ - ] Nietzsche 3 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 21:03:29 ago (+3/-0)

Be thankful that you didn't develop an addiction. Hard addiction is a beast that drives the mind and suppresses reasonable thinking. At some point it's in charge and has to be dealt with before such reasonable approaches override it.

That takeover is slow and sneaky, as a portion of your own brain is hijacked to do its will, not yours. Those with strong willpower are affected even worse once it takes over and that strength is put to it's purpose.

Thankfully there is hope. It can be changed once one decides to take that control back and is willing to do it at all costs.

[ - ] UncleDoug 2 points 7 monthsSep 23, 2024 00:52:20 ago (+2/-0)

Now I expect great praise and support from all of you.

Congrats OP for not drinking to get hammered like a nigger.

[ - ] 15MAR 2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 22:13:50 ago (+2/-0)

The only thing of importance is the end result.

Whites that shake off any jew yoke should be praised, as should those that never fell under jew yokes in the first place.

Besides, a person's propensity to indulge in or resist substances is ultimately genetic. Whether someone is an addict, repentant, or pure, has been predetermined.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 21:01:24 ago (+2/-0)

I think you’re drunk right now.

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 20:42:51 ago (+2/-0)

Good job. I wish I would've reacted to alcohol like that. I was kinda set up for substance abuse young though, was among the first generation of Ritalin kids back in '92 and it went downhill from there. Of course I can make all kinds of excuses, as you see, but at the end of the day I made a wrong turn and now I'm playing catch up. Still, good on ya.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey 1 point 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 21:04:38 ago (+1/-0)

I was the first Ritalin generation. My nigger parents put me on that stuff in 1976.
I’ve never forgiven them.
One is dead and I can’t wait till the other croaks out.

Fuck Dr.Spock.

You're inspiring, and your shoes are great.

[ - ] yesiknow 2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:40:56 ago (+2/-0)

I get it. You take control of yourself because it's what one has to do, not because people give external words to it. The real motive for many has been replaced by feckless motivational words, which is still being controlled by an outside source.

When I was young and liked attention, I went out with friends to socialize around drinking a lot too much. I figured out that it made no difference what I ordered, and I didn't have to order every drink an alcoholic drink. Outgrowing the socializing was easy when there was no alcohol habit.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:25:11 ago (+3/-1)

You appear to have a problem with not clicking on links to things you have no interest in reading, and then suffer great butthurt by having forced yourself to read them and taking umbrage at not being able to identify with damaged White people figuring out how to make their lives suck less.

Your life is so hard. Poor man.

[ - ] Gowithit -1 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:36:14 ago (+0/-1)

it is difficut not being the person who got to fuck off to lala land.
figuring out

by doing. nothing else to it. the dwelling on it doesnt help, the feeling as if theres no point because its too late doesnt help. just do and move from it.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 4 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:44:00 ago (+4/-0)

Another person without demons. I'm happy for you, you've been spared a lot of self-destructive behavior. But it's must more difficult that you seem to realize. If you can't understand or empathize, perhaps you should just sit this one out for a wile and shut the fuck up.

[ - ] Gowithit -1 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 20:26:50 ago (+0/-1)

sound like you didnt read the post. maybe you should sit this one out and shut the fuck up.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 3 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 21:07:27 ago (+3/-0)

Oh, I read it. So did everyone else, and from most people's reactions, they seem to have received it the same way I did.

Why did you get so defensive with my comment? It looks like I really got under your skin, and I can't imagine why.

[ - ] Gowithit -1 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 21:30:23 ago (+0/-1)

you took the whole post defensively and i see the comments.

We had to deal with

im sorry of you thought this post was about you lost in the thinking. but it wasnt. It was for me. now kindly fuck off. 😆
and from most people's reactions, they seem to have received it the same way I did.

I don't get tired of it, and as i see them I will say I support their sobriety. Shit is difficult I would imagine.

Fact they share it here means we are in some way their friends, or at least they want us to be. That means something for fucks sake.

Do you know how many people, good people kill themselves every fucking day because of callous assholes like you that say what you did?

How they should just know better, or whatever you can to belittle them some more? Also you didn't stop being a fucking idiot. You just got better being passive aggressive.

[ - ] Gowithit 1 point 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 18:54:50 ago (+1/-0)

fantastic! me neither. praise please.

[ - ] Crackinjokes [op] 2 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:04:11 ago (+2/-0)

You are so strong and brave.

Insurance should pay for you to go to a spa for a few weeks where you considering and discuss with many other people how and why you never were such a stupid idiot as to imbibe too much of anything and you actually had a head on your shoulders.

And everybody else's insurance should pay for that and you should get lifetime accolades for your bravery and your strength.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 19:08:19 ago (+0/-0)

a simple way to go would have sufficed.

but since it was offered... yay! rain down all the insurances!

I was very low key about it.

Marijuana is the only safe drug and you still have to be responsible.
Fight me.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 7 monthsSep 22, 2024 20:27:56 ago (+0/-0)

you kind of cut your own fight off at the knees with the still have to be responsible part.

Responsible people don't argue?

No one should be praised for doing right. Not you who did it to begin with and certainly not some dumb ass like me who did it wrong for decades.

No, I will not praise you for that.

Anyone who wants to pat me on the back for quitting drinking/drugging can suck my cock instead.
