I looked into Cities Skylines 2. 10gb GPU recommended. Absolutely insane. Plus 32gb ram, a top level processor and plenty of disk space. I'm out. It's just not worth it.
i agree. not everyone has a budget to buy top gaming PC and i think they are sabotaging themselves with these requirements. i think the idea here on the long term is to drive everyone towards services like gamepass, xcloud and geoforce, luna

For me it gets down to what I could spend that money on alternatively. I still have plenty of games untouched. There's no need to blow what could be a down payment on a car on a computer to play games.
I agree with that. The Playstation game pass thing offers a shit load of games for a yearly price.
Cities Skylines has always been a poorly coded resource hog. Most new games don’t have particularly high requirements because they’re made to run on consoles too and in my opinion graphical improvement has stagnated as a result. Most popular titles run fine with 1-2 generation old GPUs. But then I don’t need everything to be 4k at 120hz. I want raytracing to become standard in games. Only significant advancement in years.
I agree. Cities would send my cpu into overtime calculating the zoning, land value etc. Once you get to a population of 50k it gets really messy. Still better than EA imo.
That's good to know that most stuff can still be ran with a more modest build.
As long as consoles are king it's gonna be that way. I remember when games were coded for PC then if you were lucky you'd get a port to your console. Those were better days.

There's an obscene demand for GPU's and NVIDIA is literally the most valuable corporation in the world right now as result.
It's just supply and demand.
