That's like my idea for improving both drivers AND pedestrians.
You give one driver, and only one, "The Ultimate Driver", total power to be judge, jury and executioner, and shoot and kill any pedestrian/bicyclist who fucks up and pisses him off, on the spot, DRT, no appeals, no questions asked.
This would be balanced by "The Ultimate Pedestrian", who would have the same power to kill fucked up drivers.
There would be only one of each at any time, but nobody would know who it was , because it would come around randomly, and be assigned like jury duty. You'd get a text message, saying something like: "For the next 24 hours YOU are the "Ultimate Driver", with the unquestioned power of life and death over all pedestrians. Tell no one. Use this power wisely."
Just the knowledge that somewhere out there every day is a driver or pedestrian with the unquestioned power to kill you on the spot if you're fucked up, would be enough to get most people to tighten up their shit. Especially if there is a website with running tally of drivers/pedestrians "corrected".
This is hilarious. I had a friend who believed that drunk driving shouldn't be a crime. If someone wanted to drive drunk, they would put a blue flashing light on the car to tell everyone else to get the hell out of the way.
My way would almost put the cops out of business. You wouldn't need them anymore, except maybe for cleanup. That's why they'll never do it. It would break the whole system.
