2022: the storm hits Fort Myers and kills a bunch of people. 2023 and 24: both storms pass us, gather far more water and hit the Panhandle, where apparently nothing happens both times. Seems weird. There was supposed to be a 20 ft storm surge.

I'm sure something happened but I got the distinct feeling both times that reporting on the storm stopped the moment it passed Tampa. People spent days worrying about Tampa but then we hear nothing about Tallahassee. Is it possible no one cares about Tallahassee? It is very surprising to wake up and not hear about the disaster for the second year in a row. Especially after the normal coverage of the one in ft myers.

I would guess that the Tampa area is more densely populated. i don’t really know. Did you lose power last night?

Yeah I lost power for a second when I was trying to tell you guys where the treasure was. Did any of you guys find the treasure?

I worked for PODS in St. Pete back when Hurricane Charley hit Punta Gorda on Friday 13th. Volunteered to help do recovery work there, so PODS put me up in a hotel for a month in Venice, FL, all expenses paid. I started on Sunday delivering the storage poxes to people planning to move, but the homes were crushed. People MOVED INTO THE BOXES!

I called the owner of the company and told him to crank up the company 24/7 making new boxes and send me 5000 boxes ASAP. I was just a delivery driver, and by gosh, he did it! New boxes were pouring with still soft, tacky paint. I left a thumb print in several hundred of them as I delivered them.

That was one hell of a storm.

Parts of the Big Bend were out of power for up to a month in 2023, they got flooded again earlier this year and just now Cedar Key homes floated away. Steinhachee is probably finished at this point. Your guess as to why they didn't report that but it was definitely NOT a nothing burger.
