Can anyone in Lebanon really claim they didn't know Israel is the country of evil just to the south? Anyone who wants a long life would certainly not choose to live there.

The climate of Lebanon is generally subtropical and is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, humid winters. Mean daily maximum temperatures range from the low 90s F (low 30s C) in July to the low 60s F (mid-10s C) on the coast and low 50s F (low 10s C) in Bekaa in January.

"At least it doesn't freeze" is about the only good thing you can say about their climate. The rest of the conditions are pretty much all in one star territory.

And I do argue that. People get the government they tolerate and therefore deserve.

No one gets to choose where they're born, but almost every competent person gets to exercise some level of choice in their physical location, once they reach adulthood. They can also choose to stay in terrible conditions if they like.

Here in the US, we have people choosing to live in tornado and hurricane zones. Oftentimes they experience conditions equal to Israeli bombings.

you are half right people can choose to move from hazardous regions. however, there are circumstances that will not allow someone to move to a safer place. economic conditions is one of them, family ties and cultural ties are another.

i live in a hurricane prone zone and i have family in california, las vegas and the mid atlantic and the money isnt simply there to move to any of these places since it would akin to start over again which my old man cannot do

well, there are many in the same shoes in high risk places all over the planet. is not as easy as you may think

The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to relocate, for the reasons you mention. I was 25 when I drove to California and ended up in this then amazing place. It unfortunately didn't remain frozen in time and progressively became far 'less gnarly'. Still outstanding on a comparative basis though.
