Ok, so I just learned this...the fabric cashmere comes from the Kashmir goat, named after the region in India. I only bring it up because I thought you spelled it wrong, which you did since you're talking about the goat and not the fabric, but I had no idea there was two spellings that reference different things. It's stupid and is hurting my brain a little to think about. I'm not being pedantic, I just thought it was fucking interesting that we were both kind of right and wrong at the same time.

Only certain goat varieties are cashmere.

The goats can be divided into five strains, Alasan (Alashanzuoqi), Arbus, Erlangshan, Hanshan and Wuzhumuqin. The first three strains produce quality cashmere; the last two have been developed for high production.

Angora cant produce cashmere, but most goat species can, of varying quantities and quality.
