46 years of age, a natural born citizen of this nation or 14 years residence at the time of this document. I guess I don't remember the third?
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
1. NATURAL born citizen
2. 35 years of age
3. resident of the US for 14 years
4. has kissed the wailing wall and declared allegiance to Israel
No, and I love explaining this because there is always so much confusion and sometimes......outright lies.
Natural Born Citizen refers to a person who can have no other allegiance except to the country he/she is born in. ie; Ted Cruz is the son of an American and Cuban(?) who was born in Canada, he IS NOT a natural born citizen. John McCain was(?) born on an American base in Panama, he IS/WAS a Natural Born Citizen....if he was born on US soil. (there was some debate)
That specific clause was added because the nation was just created and you had "citizens" who fought for independence who were not born on the newly created US soil and it would not be fair to omit them from the opportunity.
Also, it is possible to be a Natural Born Citizen and then move away from the US, which is where the 14 years comes in. I have no idea why "14 years"? but 14 years is the requirement. A person running for the seat cannot be born in the US, then live their life in egypt and then come back to the US and become president.
The entire premise of this clause is to prevent foreign interests and power from taking hold in the US. Many, many people do not understand, or at least underestimate, what that could mean.

Sometimes the wording confuses me - does this also mean a non-natural born citizen as long as they have citizenship and 14 years of residence?.

"Subject to the jurisdiction of" is also a highly contested phrase in the US Constitution and for apparent reasons when you know why. Here's a link to one explanation of this important phrase- https://www.federalistblog.us/2007/09/revisiting_subject_to_the_jurisdiction/
