just. fucking awesome bad movie. premise precludes having any sequels, not sure if hes in the second one but by the very least the third movie they didnt even bother asking clancy brown because he kept telling them to fuck off with their retarded scripts.
I'll be honest. This is the first I'm hearing of this, but I'm here for it. Of all the Hollywood trash, Cavill is in the stratum that I can tolerate, and a Highlander update could actually be interesting. Two challenges. The original cast was possibly unbeatable. Lambert was one of those guys in the 80s who was able to get away with being a badass without being a badass. It was strictly his attitude. The second will be not overdoing it with outrageous cg.
If I'm skeptical of anything, it's the horrific track record reboots have had in the last twenty years. I can't say I've seen a reboot I thought was great, maybe other than Nolan's reboot of Batman. Mad Max: Fury Road wasn't the worst, but I could take it or leave it. And if you can get beyond that dumb bitch Zendaya, the Dune reboots were alright.
I won't be hopeful about this one, but maybe it will surprise me. The worst thing they could do, though, would be to mimic what the original did soundtrack-wise. Don't you dare get Imagine Dragons to do an entire soundtrack for this movie.
Christopher Lambert was/is a great actor. Very cool and understated in that role.

The DEI hiring has ensured that no new inspired stories can be created, so they have to live off the glory of older stories but of course shit modern writers are making the scripts. The first Dune reboot was pretty good. The sequel became very niggery. Also I thought they were trying to make some anti-white statement with the Harkonens. The new Highlander film is headed up by Chad Stahelski, who is a stuntman-turned-director. He directed John Wick. But the studio will decide how many niggers we have to endure. There is a plan to produce several more films in the franchise.

I agree about Lambert. His whole persona really conveyed a kind of ambivalence toward his predicament. It wasn't triumphal, more like a necessity. It was reserved. You actually sensed he wanted to be normal on the one hand, that he resented the constant fighting, and at the same time, he had a deep appreciation for the history that he saw unfold and the experiences he was privileged enough to have. Like, so many years of being immortal will just erase your ego, but not your confidence.

Christopher Lambert is a borderline asshole in that movie ( and several others). I don’t know if it’s his Frenchness or what. But its kinda cute.
I liked the Dune books and was a fan of the 80s version with Kyle MacLoughlin. The Sci-fi Channel miniseries wasn’t bad either. I really wanted to like the newer Dune series. It was really good in parts.
Greystoke was a great movie. Lambert does an awesome chimpanzee act. Highlander was great. But im struggling to think of a good Lambert movie after that. Them... 'Fortress' movies took the shine off him a bit for me. Did like him tho.
I also like they got a frenchman to play a scotsman while they got a scotsman to play an egyptian dressed as a spaniard.
i did not mind the robocop or total recall reboots. robocop, again, good bad movie, the new one, an average good quality movie, but did introduce me to a band called 'Focus' who are now on constant rotation while im driving. (and theyre both Verhoeven movies, which had their own awesome aesthetic originally)
Total Recall reboot i liked because you can now watch it back to back with Bladerunner and see that they came from the same universe ("We can remember it for you wholesale" and "Do androids dream of electric sheep" both Phillip Dick stories) - the original bladerunner and the new total recall now look like the same place (to the point im sure i saw the chinese bike parade with the illuminated umbrellas in it... unless that was Bladerunner.... 2042 or whatever), while the original total recall was just a fucking awesome run and gun arnie flick with some titty and awesome quotable lines. And i quote... clears lungs

I've always loved the Highlander concept. There's so much you could do with it. But every version of it has been terrible. Even Sir Sean couldn't save it. So of course a new iteration will suck balls. How could it be otherwise?
