2. Scroll to installation and download either yt-dlp.exe (for windows) or yt-dlp (python version for Linux. If you are on Mac you are a faggot. For Linux you need to install ffmpeg; easiest way is using sudo apt install (if on a debian branch or yum or whatever distro) or pull it down from your app store. If on Windows; go https://www.ffmpeg.org/download.html and download the Windows version and extract the .exe files from the "bin" folder and dump them into "Downloads".
3. On Windows; Open a command line and go to the directory that the .exe is located (usually under downloads) in the command line type "cd Downloads" (no skip the ""). If on Windows 11; you can right click in the downloads folder and click "open terminal". Once there; type yt-dlp theyoutubelink and hit enter.
4. On Linux; Download python 3. For Debian distros, in aterminal you type "sudo apt install python3" or yum or whatever other distro you are using. Then in the terminal change directory to where you downloaded it by typing "cd Downloads" (case sensitive because linux) or open your file explorer and on most modern distros your will have a "open terminal here" option. Once the terminal is at that location type: python3 yt-dlp theyoutubelink

For YouTube, on Windows, I haven't found one yet... my current JDownloader only gets video (without audio).
However, JDownloader is constantly updated, and can get lots of other sites. A very good app to have on desktop.
