Teslas don't have a dashboard. Instead of a dashboard they have a fucking iPad. They would be junk even with a normal V6 engine. I don't understand why people are paying a lot of money for a car without a fucking dashboard.
I drove a rental Tesla once. Yeah it's very fast off the line but that's over in just a couple of seconds. Other than that the car feels extremely heavy because it is it doesn't feel nimble. So I wouldn't say it's a great driving car it does what it's made to do well but it doesn't compare to a good driving car like a Miata or something else where you just feel the turns and have a great time in the turns. With the Tesla you feel the very heavy battery underneath you and it feels Rock solid but it feels like you're moving a giant rock through turns. So you just can't really say it's a good handling car. It's very fast off the line but I'm not one of those people who want to be fast off the line. I don't want to be drag racing people.
I do love the white seats. It's a miracle that they figured out how to have some fabric fake leather that stays white and does not get dirty. I would not like to take a long trip because I really wouldn't like to stop at those chargers. I visit a local charger all the time and you see those people sitting there for half an hour or 45 minutes for the most part and I don't care if they're in there eating lunch or whatever if I was on a long trip I typically don't like to go in and eat lunch I like to get gas go get gas go get gas go and to go out of my way to go to a charger and sit for 45 minutes would not be the ideal situation for me. Now if it was a daily commuter and you had a regular job at solar panels on your roof and you never had to pay for your electricity of your gas and that's a real advantage of a Tesla but you can also do that with a Nissan leaf and others. In fact when the Nissan leaf first came out if you had a commute that was about 10 or 20 miles it would pay for itself and gas savings everyday and that was a nice car. I drove that one in first came out. Smaller and nimble. Not as fast.
But honestly my favorite are the hybrid electrics. They're super nice cuz they're mostly running off the battery in the engine just cuts on to keep the battery charged unless you're in a hard acceleration in which case the engine will cut in to help you there too. But what that means is you can park all night with the air conditioner or the heater on wherever You are and the engine just cuts on and off all it needs to keep that temperature inside. And you get 45 miles to the gallon and you use gas just like a car so you fill up very quickly. When you're getting 45 miles to the gallon your gasoline costs are below your electricity cost and they're way below the premium you're going to pay for your Tesla. And you're going to have real knobs and buttons in a real dash. The key here is the prius. The Prius is really the winner. I'm not a fan of the looks of it outside but once you get in and drive it taking a long trip you realize the Prius is the car you really want.
Now I haven't used self-driving a lot that Tesla and maybe I'd become a big fan of that but since you can't crawl in the back seat you got to pay attention anyway and that kind of defeats the purpose. And I like to physically drive anyway I like to physically steer so I'm not trying to avoid that.
They did a minimalist interior because it saved a ton of money. They have no knobs because it saved a ton of money. I'm not a fan of the minimalist interior and the no dashboard. And I don't love screens and I don't like the fact that you got to touch the screen to do a lot of stuff that normally you could just do with push of one physical button or turning one physical knob. If I did own one I'd buy those extra knob aftermarket things you can hook up to get them to do whatever you want and then you just stick them on the dashboard of the Tesla.
I purchased one a few months ago, and now my wife wants to sell her car and buy one.
Hands down the best driving experience in my life. I could go on but ... simply stated: with 4 drivers in the house (4 different personalities, all with their own nice vehicles to drive) ... it's the vehicle everyone wants to drive.
Also - don't buy a cyber truck, roadster, or any other car in it's first production year. Always wait at least 3 years ... doesn't matter if it's Toyota or Tesla ... first production models are all trash.

Drive one and you'll be an immediate convert. I smoked a souped up Dodge Challenger in my wifes 4WD Model Y the other day. She's got the dual motor setup. The guy took off from the light in a loud screaming roar....we both had to stop for the next light and there were no cross roads or traffic lights for quite a while from there. He was reving his motor....blew the dude away on green. At 80mph in a 35 I backed off and he passed me. I didn't want a ticket was all.
They corner well, super quiet, holds a lot of shit, has dog mode so you can leave the windows rolled up with the pup inside when it's 110 degrees outside. They're amazing, not perfect but amazing. I had to go to the plumbing store the other day. They'd recently paved over the main street entrance with a curb: and the Tesla, which had been hands free all the way, almost took me into the new curb.
Not perfect, but having the car come up onto some slow mo-fo and have IT turn on it's own blinker and move lanes to get around the slow car, and then blinker and back into the right lane, turning at all the lights....well....it's fucking unbelivable and damned nice as well.
Oh, it gets the equivanent of 120 miles per gallon as well.
With its vision system it should have seen that new curb whether it was new or not. It is supposedly not running off of internal maps and this makes me question that.
