I did word my post poorly - I should have said that after the nerves send the pain signals to the brain, the brain can get overwhelmed. Adrenaline, shock, just shutting the body down.

This girl seems to have been wearing stockings. My guess is the fire spread too rapidly on her clothing, her legs were burning, and eventually she just lost most control of her limbs due to shock and not having enough blood flow.
