You might think that if you didn’t know that the 2 mutations that confer really white european skin— alleles at SLC24A5 and SLC45A2– did not spread into europeans until the last 5 - 10 thousand years, probably precipitated by migrations northward as the glaciers receded. These genes have spread to middle eastern populations but at lower frequencies, because the sun is too intense there. Middle easterners did not need exogenous dark genes from africa to obtain their color. They are the result of ancient dark skinned people (natufians, taforalt) who mixed with immigrants from farther north (mostly caucasus) who carried this mutations. Black skin does not have to be sub saharan african. There are other black people (pacific negritos, new guineans, abos, indians) who are not at all related to africans (as distantly related to africans as us. ) A few thousand years of environmental pressure (intense sun/lack of sun) is long enough to shift the skin color of a population by changing the frequency of certain alleles (genes). BTW there are dozens of other genes that effect skin color but those are the European “Big 2” for Whiteness. This guy may have one or none. He’s (probably) not infused with niggerness. Thats not why middle easterners, mediterrainean people are darker.
