The other option I like to run by people with no experience is.. don't.
If you are risking a multi-thousand dollar item over an unnecessary trip while having no experience, it isn't worth it.
"But I need to get shit done today!" When you amortize the odds of one of these people fucking it up and the cost of a car, buy not wrecking your car today you got something done. Probabalistically you are up $200 verses a dumber you that chances it just by doing nothing.
The second advice is take all the time you need. There is no rush. "But I need to get more done!". No. But going out and managing to not wreck your car you are earning a whole fucking car by not wrecking it. That's worth more than the tiny extra you would get done trying to be quick.
Now other people can go fast. Some of us have been driving beaters in the snow since we were teens. We know the break point and recovery at every speed in any condition. We might even intentionally slide because we know how to handle that. Heck, I don't even do that anymore because I can't trust these modern vehicles. You're driving around a $20,000 dvd player in an environment where you really need analog.
^this. One time I tried to go to work in terrible road conditions. I had an accident, even while driving very cautiously. I could have called in sick but I wanted to be “a trooper”. Lesson learned.
I'm the guy friends call when things get really shitty out. I'm generally not worried about the road itself, I'm worried about inexperienced/overconfident idiots driving large machines way too fast. And with all the new invaders in the country, it's gotten worse out there.
Some of us have been driving beaters in the snow since we were teens.
That's how you get good at driving. When you are still young enough to pick up things easily, it's still new so you don't have decades-long bad habits to de-program, and you are healthy enough to bounce back from a minor crash.
Learning on a beater is something I would require of all young men, no matter how rich. Learning to drive it, maintain it, and the legal shit you have to do while not spending much on anything of real worth is perfect.
Then they had to start all those programs to remove cheap beaters from the streets, forcing people to buy more than they can afford. Fucking jews.
It's not a joke. I have to live/work in downtown Atlanta for 5 years. The streets are narrow as fuck, and the average driver has no idea how to deal with black ice, ice, or snow.
Imagine watching "educated" Niggers driving $60k BMW's, on completely bald tires, at 40 mph, on the snow-ice. It was pure entertainment.
Even just 1/2 inch of snow would shut down most of the city... all due to stupid fucking drivers crashing.

You forgot no insurance.
Look at Georgia Gazette and see just how many nigger arrests include driving with no insurance. It's basically a free space on the rap sheet bingo card.
If nobody had insurance. It will be much better than mandated insurance. Especially if you can get the people sent to jail when they didn't pay for repairs. You would see a pretty mad deflation of the cost of things.
It wasn't always that bad here. Twenty years ago, the 75,85, and 285 were unglorified Indycar tracks. Now everyone drives slow no matter what, until the road freezes. There used to be good drivers here.
I remember heading up 85 one night about 20 years ago, and a group of motorcycles passed me all easily doing over 100 mph. I was doing a pretty good clip myself, and they passed me like it was nothing. I got up to around the Freedom Parkway exit, and traffic slowed down, and a group of those guys were understaffed the overpass looking distraught, and there were motorcycle _parts_ everywhere. Probably person parts too.
Either way, now 85 is a parking lot all hours of the day and I avoid the city at all costs.

As a coastal Californian, it's that white stuff that falls on the mountain peaks every 10 years or so. Although it did hail on the beach one time back in the 90s.
Day 1/2 72°Hi RealFeel® 73°
We used to have 5 or 10 days at 70 or above in January, but today was the only one on the schedule again. It's been getting colder in this part of the world.
Never really understood this. Yeah, us southerners freak out over a little snow, but the ribbing is rich coming from people whos' states have medians cluttered with twisted up trucks and smashed cars in the winter.
The damn niggers don't even stop at red lights on a nice dry day. Slamming on your brakes and just hoping your car stops in time is quite the stress... And to watch the nigger still hit someone else and I then proceed to get the fuck out of there as I was not hit or involved before the nigger starts the gunshots is another thing.
Grandma smart enough to stock up for winter and she stays in the fucking house except to restock the firewood crib out past 3 days. You fucking simps I swear........
lol Its true. It causes pure chaos and its funny. I loved seeing all the people who've never seen snow before encountering it for the first time when I lived down there.
I moved south from MI over 15 years ago and have seen snow maybe three times since I lived here. When I drove back to MI one winter the roads were pretty bad, and I was white knuckle most of the way. It’s pretty scary if you aren’t used to it.
That said, Grandma was a little too talky talky with her girlfriends one day and it was questionable whether we were going to make her flight back home one day.
"We gotta GO gramma."
That V8 was screaming and she learned why they call it an Oh Shit! handle. She still loves me.
Unironically good advice, given in a way to reach the dumbest people who need the advice the most.
People who drive in the snow regularly also underestimate how bad the conditions are when it snows in places that don't get snow. It is much worse than places that have snow tires, salt trucks, and the oil has been washed off the roads by earlier rain or snow.
And when that shit dries out and the vehicles kick it up, we breath it in. When I get back to the hills and travel the roads they spread it on, I can feel it, taste it, and get ill from it. I also heard they put some new crap in it that will destroy the undercarraiges of vehicles. I'll remember the name and post it.
That's a silly article that makes claims without any backing what so ever. You literally linked to an article as "evidence" which did exactly what you are doing already; making baseless claims.
Everything, including water, can be claimed to be toxic because at high enough dosages even water can kill. To then claim that watering your lawn is killing it would be shoe on head retarded.
Salts exist in nature. Salts in nature are not killing everything. Salt has been used to melt snow for decades and there is absolutely zero evidence that it has caused harm. It's fucking salt. You fucking eat it. It sits on your fucking kitchen table. Now that I mentioned it you will feel sick every time you sit down because apparently you are extremely suggestible and vulnerable to psychosomatic illness.
