Get the mod where it shoots out Black paint when it detects the gay flag.

It reminded me of that video where the police horse refuses to step on the gay lol.

I own a chinky moped. Based on that experience, I will never buy a chinky car.

They're not that terrible for the price.

Nobody remembers the bose suspension?
There is a video with an old car with nose suspension that jumps as well..
Maybe 20 years ago.
https://youtu.be/eSi6J-QK1lw
If bose had opened the patent, we could all have this in our cars now.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 2 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 08:48:13 ago (+2/-0)

I remember that. I recall Bose demoing it and probably never went into production. Likely it would not have been approved for sale in the United States.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 12:13:59 ago (+1/-0)

Yeah I remember that. I think it was too expensive or some lawyer bullshit stopped it from becoming a thing.

[ - ] dassar 0 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 15:09:47 ago (+0/-0)

I imagine totally the cost - Each wheel the suspension is driven by an active motor instead of a passive spring/damping system. Seems expensive to maintain as well.

[ - ] Murdock 0 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 17:19:47 ago (+0/-0)

Yes.
We all get that COST is high.
But.. Don't think about the "jump" gimmick.. Think about the advance stabilization it can do.. Imagine how much safer all cars (especially tall working ones) could be in curves, breaking, irregular terrain..
All this could have evolved to be cheaper these 20 years if it was either open/cheap patent.
I think Bose did a really disservice to show up this without any plan of implementing (meaning they worked for years > for sure tried to sell for years more > no big buyers > let's show to the public how awesome it is)
I also am against gov overreach.. But.. If this tech could bring more safety, they should try to push to some kind of deal (better than forcing buy of tiktok)
--
Of course.. We can only presume if the tech would be feasible. But I believe if they showed in this video.. In an old big car (to contrast how good/stable it can be).. I think it was doable..

It's like a saw stop. It makes the tool safer but it misfires often and it can cost a thousand dollars to fix a bent arbor and the lost revenue when it does.

[ - ] dassar 0 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 19:37:01 ago (+0/-0)

Dont disagree, although i wonder how much of Bose primarily being a research/ innovation company played into it.

[ - ] dassar 1 point 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 15:04:11 ago (+1/-0)

Yea - a bit unrelated - but iirc Bose had patents for their Bose lifestyle systems and cube speakers that were wireless way back in 2001. I remember reading it was due to expire a number of years later.

Its 2025,do you have a flying car?
No, but I got a video for a fake jumping car from China.

Driver; "Here comes the pothole, AAAAAND PICK YOUR FEET UP!"

[ - ] Backwards 3 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 09:40:49 ago (+3/-0)

They show you there's no one behind the wheel because if there's anybody driving, it will be too heavy to jump.

[ - ] Not_C 0 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 15:13:03 ago (+0/-0)

It'd be jumping at every patch of asphalt, puddle, shadow.
You'd spend the whole time just bouncing down the road.

China is making great cars, they'll be world leaders in 10 years

[ - ] kammmmak 2 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 09:50:53 ago (+3/-1)

I agree, the ignorance here is epic. Did you see their SUV? It's gonna blow the competition away.

[ - ] Reawakened 1 point 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 08:56:36 ago (+1/-0)

LOL!!!! Man yeah!!!... I live in a country where they are buying a lot of chinese cars. Resale is shit. Reliability is shit. After about 3 storms, they look like cheap plastic. The chinese will have to invent a word for "ethics" before they will ever dominate the car market.

[ - ] Sal_180 -3 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 09:00:51 ago (+1/-4)

Japanese cars were the same in the late 60s. Same with motorcycles. "Jap crap" was what they were called. China are in a similar position.

[ - ] Reawakened 1 point 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 09:30:18 ago (+1/-0)

I would agree with you and use Korea as another example, except for that ethics thing. The Chinese do not have the same ethics as the Japanese and Korea is small enough that strong arm tactics can work.

[ - ] Shitcreek 3 points 3 monthsJan 8, 2025 14:03:04 ago (+3/-0)

Things like ethics and quality control are foreign concepts to rice nigger bugmen.
