Definitely. I had an unimaginable amount of sand under my carpet when we replaced them with wood when we bought this house. It was fucking disgusting under there. Will never install that shit ever.

Quality porcelain tile is better. Does not chip or scratch. Can be bleached.

Totally disagree. Have hardwood everywhere except bedrooms. I hate the hardwood, it's cold, loud, and just as hard to clean. We have throw rugs EVERYWHERE so what is the point. May as well have carpet. Makes zero sense. Wish we would have carpeted a low pile instead.
