This is the worst decision they could've ever made. Its proof of their guilt and evil.

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 14:31:51 ago (+2/-1)

Now it's proof of their immunity.

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 20:26:23 ago (+0/-0)

no it is not. Pardons need to be for specific charges

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 21:23:57 ago (+0/-0)

A federal pardon can be issued prior to the start of a legal case or inquiry, prior to any indictments being issued, for unspecified offenses, and prior to or after a conviction for a federal crime.

I'm not an attorney, but pardons appear to be pretty open ended.

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 21:44:39 ago (+0/-0)

there has to be a case specified that the pardon is for, there is no such thing as a blanket pardon for any and everything

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 13:51:19 ago (+0/-0)

In practice though, Hunter appeared to get a pardon for "anything he did or might be accused of having done" from (I think) 2014 to the present. Biden specified the person, not a case. So far his pardons have been uncontested, and have been blankets, sheets, pillows, and the entire bed.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 14:29:36 ago (+0/-0)

"Our investigation has shown that the 2020 election was stolen. As such, all of Biden's EOs, pardons, laws, regulations, etc are null and void."

"On a completely unrelated note, here is a list of people we are arresting pending further investigation. (shows pardons list)"

They can do as they damned well wish. They only need to have the will to do it. They already have the force and judicial system to enforce it.

That would be Trump taking down the entire US government. I see he's 'actually' keeping some of his promises this time, but promises to the jews too. I'm remaining skeptical based on his past behaviors.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 17:53:41 ago (+1/-0)

Trump taking down the entire US government.

I see no problems here.

And yeah, I think he's just slowing down the collapse for a few more years. I'm ambivalent about it. I kinda want it to start and get it over with, but I also like eating.

[ - ] Sector2 0 points 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 14:38:22 ago (+0/-0)

We'll see. I'm still waiting for her to be in jail, 8 years later.

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 16:01:15 ago (+0/-0)

lets see what happens when or I mean if they charge him with something

[ - ] Benji1369 4 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 16:57:58 ago (+4/-0)

Miley shouldn't get a pardon, he knowingly committed treason going over Trumps head.telling the Chinese government that he would let them know if Trump was going to attack.

[ - ] SirNiggsalot 3 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 14:12:07 ago (+3/-0)

Why isn't he dangling from a rope ?

[ - ] Version6 2 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 09:57:50 ago (+2/-0)

Those hurt by these people will seek justice by other means if the court is removed.

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] 2 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 10:02:25 ago (+2/-0)

personally i dont think anything will happen. it'll be business as usual though this sets a dangerous precedent and weakens the legal system

[ - ] Leveraction 2 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 14:04:46 ago (+2/-0)

Pos biden needs to burn alive,... slowly.

But you can't pardon anyone who hasn't been charged with a crime.
Article 2 Section 2.

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 19:18:35 ago (+0/-0)

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

You need to learn how to read.

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 22:32:34 ago (+0/-0)

And you need anger management courses.
I stand corrected in my previous statement.
So what happens now, do you jerk off if I get really angry at your post?
I don't get it.
It's a dry topic.
I think the pardons are irrelevant.
They don't exclude civil penalties.
They don't prevent criminal litigation.
They just exempt the recipient from imprisonment - or death.
Let Fauci's pardon fly... Even money says there will be a class action.
It's all theater anyway, lets see how it all plays out.

[ - ] Peleg 1 point 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 18:17:44 ago (+1/-0)

Ha! Wouldn't That be Great! Get a "blank check" presidential pardon! So this must mean that now they can do A-n-y-thing they want and they can't be charged with a crime!

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 18:24:55 ago (+0/-0)

yeah the issue here is that they havent been accused of anything in a court of law so yes this could grant them a defacto immunity for future crimes? the whole thing is pretty bizarre and could lead so serious abuses going forward by the pardoned people

what a mess!

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 19:19:46 ago (+0/-0)

A pardon does not cover future crimes. It only covers crimes up to the time of the pardon.

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 19:37:51 ago (+0/-0)

which crimes are they being accused of?

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 20:30:50 ago (+0/-0)

That does not matter. They are forgiven of any and all crimes they committed or may have committed. Npw there is no point in investigating on the federal level because if any wrongdoing was found, they have a pardon to clear it.

[ - ] registereduser 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 09:56:06 ago (+0/-0)

What did he pardon him for?

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 10:00:52 ago (+1/-1)

i have no idea as the constitution doesnt give the prez to give pardons to non criminals. this whole thing is questionable and probably illegal as well since the idea is to give these ppl immunity from prosecution via double jeopardy

trouble is they havent been accused of anything, so it should be bogus it this faces a court of law

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 13:45:59 ago (+0/-0)

It was done before and has not been challenged. Ford pardonned Nixon before Nixon could.have been formally accused. The presidential power to pardon is unchecked.

[ - ] dassar 1 point 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 15:43:59 ago (+1/-0)

What specific crime was he pardoned for - or just a blanket immunity from persecution while in office ?.

What is the detail on their immunity - does it cover a time period like 2014 to present day?.

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 19:17:27 ago (+0/-0)

It was blanket immunity. Basically Ford said "Whatever Nixon may or may not have done, he is free from prosecution from it."

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 16:27:26 ago (+2/-1)*

It is unchallenged, not unchecked.
The Constitution is clear regarding the applicability of a pardon.

[ - ] dosvydanya_freedomz [op] -1 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 14:22:52 ago (+0/-1)

but nixon was president the ones he pardoned arent, learn the difference

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 18:58:16 ago (+0/-0)

Learn history you stupid nigger. Nixon was not president, Gerald Ford was. Gerald Ford gave Nixon a pardon after Nixon resigned. Stupid motherfucker!

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 22:27:15 ago (+0/-0)

A bit intense, don't you think?
Yes, Nixon was a former President when granted a pardon.

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 07:27:49 ago (+0/-0)

First weekend on Voat?

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA -1 points 3 monthsJan 21, 2025 17:04:20 ago (+0/-1)

No.
Your rage is disproportionate to the conversation.
It's conspicuous.
Go beat up a nigger kid or push and old indian lady down some steps if you need to blow off steam.

[ - ] 3Whuurs 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 20:55:23 ago (+0/-0)

I’m sure Trump begged him to.

[ - ] inaminit -2 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 11:42:19 ago (+0/-2)

Er, doncha need to DO something WRONG to be pardoned or has the definition of 'pardon' changed??

[ - ] Belrial 0 points 3 monthsJan 20, 2025 19:14:56 ago (+0/-0)

No. The president can pardon you for anything you may or may not have done. If he writes a pardon for you covering anything from 2020 to now and you were on a 4 year federal crime spree, you just got a get out of jail free card. You're still on the hook for any state crimes, but that's a different story altogether. If you didn't do anything from 2020 to now, the feds won't even bother investigating because your pardon covers that time period.
