My friends and I would chuck them straight up into trees so the Jarts would go out of vision in the foliage. We had way less time to react and dodge, but one could sort of rely on sound. A benefit was that the branches were slowing their decent.

No, we made bombs from cleaning products and chemistry sets. Blew up fallen trees with them for the most part. We blew up a well that was "sealed off" with wood planks that were rotted through. No one ever came after us for that one surprisingly.

What we didn't do, was recklessly endanger each other.

The only people I ever saw doing that was some neighbor kids whose parents were also 1st cousins. Those kids were wild! There were a bunch of them too. There was slutty Susan, and her brother/cousin Charlie (now he's called one eye Charlie after the jarts), and their brother/cousin one nut Mike( not from jarts but a horrible story about a flag pole), and finally their baby sister/cousin Eliza-Beth. She didn't have a nickname like the others. She insisted her name was Eliza-Beth though. I figured it was because her eyes were sooo far apart that she needed her name stretched out so that she could read it all.

Around 15 years ago I found out that they were still being made in the UK.
You could order darts from them, but to bypass the laws here, they would ship the tips and fins separately a few days apart.
They worked out to $65 or $75 per set with shipping and everything.

That was everybody's Christmas present that year.

They were made by Crown Darts.
It looks like they went out of business.

Hey, I was drunk bushcrafting once, chopping limbs with a big ass knife. Was holding limb with left hand, chopping with right. Landed a solid blow on top index knuckle.
