His prepared remarks had said security guarantees for Ukraine “should not be provided through NATO membership,” according to three U.S. officials familiar with them.

One security guarantee the United States is considering as part of a peace deal is to automatically grant Ukraine NATO membership if Russia violates the agreement, four U.S. officials said.

You just don't seem to understand what words mean. Accomplishing 100% of your stated goals and then reinforcing your position isn't a "stalemate". We, here in the US, call that "a total victory" and what we call what Ukraine is doing "desperate actions on the eve of utter defeat".

And Putin needed rescuing from what? The US and EU sending hundreds of billions of dollars to get Ukrainians slaughtered for no reason? That doesn't sound like a Russian problem. That sounds like a Ukrainian problem. When was the last major victory for Ukraine in this war? Can you even remember?
