What ever happened to serious people?

submitted by Storefront to whatever 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 10:31:35 ago (+20/-0)     (whatever)

I'm someone people have often described as stoic or serious most of my life. I don't enjoy small talk and I have a job that involves crisis management, which I take seriously.

The post about the Alaskan Airlines diversity push made me think of this (https://news.alaskaair.com/alaska-airlines/sisters-of-the-skies-pledge/)

DEI at all costs is one thing. The other is the lack of seriousness people seem to have. I want my pilots and airline pros looking grim and serious, thinking about flying planes and not mugging for the camera. Doctors and nurses don't need to be cool or do tik tok dances. The head of DHS cybersecurity doesn't need to be out playing folk songs on her guitar at tech conferences (yes this happened).

I have kids and I do like goofing around with them. But I enjoy the adult world and feel no need to loosen up. The lack of seriousness so many adults have about their lives concerns me a great deal.

They just stopped posting here. Letting glowniggers harass everyone unabated will do that.

As a business owner who mingles with other business owners, I find myself in the company of other serious people regularly.

I see you cheekily left out your own OF aspirations. HA HA! ....cheekily.

If I did start an OF, people would pay me to keep my clothes ON.

Honestly, I think social media has glorified nigger culture and stupid fucking women have adopted it. I don’t think everything has to be serious as much as it needs to be appropriate to the relative setting. There is a lack of trust in the individual who does something important and does not take that seriously. I expect a comedian to do a jackoff hand motion on stage. I do not expect my kids elementary teacher to do that or a Sunday school teacher. The problem with niggers is everything is a fucking joke to them. Or they are the exact opposite and every transgression requires a drive by shooting. There is nothing realistic to the setting and too many whites have adopted this level of stupidity. If you want to be taken seriously a a professional you need to act like it. Also, faggots have muddied the water on this. There are too many Queens out there swinging their rainbow strap-ons and feathered boas in our faces. We need a good niggerfaggot purge to balance things out again. I’m not interested in living like fucking pilgrims with top hats in shit but we are sinking into a level of degeneracy that can only lead to our destruction.

i dunno, man. there's a reason why the term "gallows humor" exists.
some of the funniest shit i've heard was during or immediately after catastrophe.

We're just going native in clown world. Honk honk!

I couldn't agree more, but what you have is the predominant pendulum cultural shift. It used to be normal that displaying emotions publicly was considered a masculine or adult trait, such as the old parent adage: "You cry and I'll give you something to cry about."

Such stifling on emotional displays lead to tragic outcomes; you get man-child syndrome. Now, especially with the rise of cameras everywhere and the dominance of social media fame, outward displays of emotion are encouraged for clicks. And we're right now in the eye of the storm for such ridiculous displays of childish behavior. It's going to get worse.

My heart completely sank when I read about the story recently where a group of teens filmed the aftermath of a brutal assault and robbery on a woman at night in Europe. Rather than immediately calling for her aid, they uploaded the footage to their own personal social media channel. They promptly got the videos taken down, but just the action shows how deviant and voyeuristic people have sunk to be.

It comes from extended childhoods. Millenials babied their kids for so long that they never really grew up. Now those permababies are legally adults and they have never grown up.

[ - ] MaryXmas 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 14:21:10 ago (+1/-0)

You mean the boomers never took accountability for their poor parenting and now find it easier to blame their own children?

[ - ] NuckFiggers 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 15:11:16 ago (+1/-0)

I'm not a boomer so I'm not sure if you're trying to make out that I am, but yes. Boomers were shitty parents but for completely different reasons. They neglected and beat their kids so they had to grow up early. Millenials were babied and pampered so they never had to grow up.

I'm someone who can be very serious or very non-serious. I love laughing, and I think laughter/comedy is one of the most important things in life. In most contexts, I think that mature, effective people can combine them. Experts are people I see as capable of laughing during "crisis time" because their confidence in their abilities is so complete, and their training has made their responses virtually reflexive.

That said, I think there are times when professionalism calls for a certain consideration of the people who are depending on you. I don't want to see my heart surgeon twerking before the procedure. I don't want to see airline pilots giggling like schoolchildren before they take me a few miles up in the air.

A lot of this used to be covered by "common sense." If you're a funeral director, you don't crack jokes.

But I have noticed what you're noticing about society. There's almost some cognitive dissonance going on. On the one hand, nobody acts serious about serious things, while on the other hand, everyone wants a rule for everything and for everybody to be acting according to the rules.

There's a time to be serious and a there's a time to fuck off. They shouldn't even be mixed by people who aren't top-1%-competent at the serious thing, and if the serious thing involves a reasonable expectation that you'll be serious (people's lives depend on it), then you contain that shit.

I had a pair of guys do a section of hardwood flooring for me. I know they're the best in the area. I've had them do work before. But the guy would smoke a joint every morning in his truck and again at lunch. It makes me lose respect for you, even if the work you're doing is top-notch. I guess the idea I'm thinking of is decorum. It seems to matter to some people and not at all to others.

Wait til you start to wonder where all the sincere people went. Maybe being a serious person, that wont concern you as much...

I'm still here. When doing something, I take everything serious. This way it gets done right.
I know I am an outlier these days. Like you mentioned, everything always seems just fun and games. Things don't get done, productivity as a whole suffers.

These clown people allowed a veterinarian (((Albert Boula))) and a failed computer antivirus developer (((Bill Gates))) to make choices about the experimental shots they should be taking, and in the same breath told you to trust the science. Meanwhile, the actual scientists like Robert Malone, one of the original creators of the mRNA technology who told people not to take it, were censored - and the professional entertainers and talking heads were instead their trusted sources of information.

James Watson was forced to sell his 1962 Nobel Prize for co-discovering DNA, marking the first time a living scientist has ever sold his Nobel. The greatest living scientist was stripped of his accolades and accomplishments because he said intelligence has a biological connection. Don’t trust the science if it’s racist!

It’s no coincidence that clowns aren’t supposed to get serious.

For as dumb as many normies are on scientific matters, we have glue eaters here who believe in flat earth and think dinosaurs weren't real.

[ - ] Sector2 3 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 11:30:40 ago (+3/-0)

Some serious people still exist, but the majority of people are easily programmed by herd management techniques. Non-serious people are not questioning people.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 2 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 13:43:20 ago (+2/-0)

One of the most frightening and confusing things to them is when someone asks 'Why?'.

[ - ] AugustineOfHippo2 8 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 11:22:44 ago (+8/-0)

From what I've read, in pioneer days in America, it was considered impolite to make display of emotions. Nowadays most people think life is all about entertainment and are nothing more than perpetual children. I hear people say all the time, let the kids be kids. No, it is my responsibility as a parent to instruct them on how to be an adult. They know perfectly well how to be kids, they need to learn how to be an adult.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 2 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 13:42:09 ago (+2/-0)

It is a learned behavior. As society become more jewish, and therefore more feminine, it will inevitably become more childish. Those of us who can shrug off the multi-trillion dollar endless propaganda, school indoctrination, deliberately changed societal expectations, and niggers, are the serious ones.

And that makes us racist. No, seriously, they've come out with papers and such calling anyone who's too serious, on time, clean and professional as racist White supremist men.

And I guess they're not wrong. Just coming about it at an oblique angle.

Nigger, I'm as serious as a heart attack.

I don't want to take a cold shower and find out... not until summer.

It comes from not being held or expected to be held responsible for anything.

Most of them were quietly behind the scenes and they're not on social media.

Honestly the only reason I'm on social media is because I think there are some messages to spread that are extremely important that are finally getting out there thank goodness that there are threats to our country from within and normal people need to be told about them.

The only other reason I'm ever on social media is to learn something and there are some incredible things you can learn from YouTube videos etc.

But most serious people just aren't even messing with this stuff in fact Franklin most of them don't have time to get involved in politics which is unfortunately why we keep having people elect people that are terrible if the counting machines are even actually electing anybody

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 13:51:08 ago (+1/-0)

Most of them were quietly behind the scenes and they're not on social media.

That's a rule of life in the military. The guys who knew their shit and got things handled weren't around sucking officer dick for a good eval. So they got pushed out and the brown-nosers rule the roost. Then they instituted several firing programs to clear out anyone White and Male who stuck around. Now we have a military that worships jews, trannies, faggots, and black women.

And honestly, I'm glad. Lord give me silly enemies, etc.

Honestly the only reason I'm on social media

Sure, spreading the JQ, WN, and such is important. Just don't get caught up in their arguments. The time for talk is over.

I use social media to learn (youtube) and engage in WN/White History podcasts. There's faceberg marketplace of course, which has almost entirely replaced craigslist unfortunately.

Still, I'm mostly just at my home fixing it, building stuff, and doing things.

we keep having people elect people

Democracy was a mistake.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 15:16:09 ago (+2/-1)

Democracy was a mistake

Universal sufferage was a mistake. Landowners should be the only ones to vote.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 2 monthsFeb 27, 2025 13:16:45 ago (+0/-0)

White, male land owners sure.

[ - ] Looneyskiprooney 0 points 2 monthsFeb 26, 2025 08:25:03 ago (+0/-0)

What democracy are you talking about?

[ - ] Consensus_Reality 0 points 2 monthsFeb 25, 2025 22:59:54 ago (+0/-0)

...why we keep having people elect people that are terrible...

You still think people are getting elected? You think that's air your breathing now?
