So you make $160k, you'll have far less money than someone making $150k. You make $200k, you are making $150k

You make $250k, you are barely above $150k

And your employer is paying taxes on those "raises" you're getting as well.

That won't help anyone produce, manufacture, fabricate, start a business, etc. There are too many regulations. It won't help any generational transfer of wealth, because that gets all taxed to hell. It will help the poors consoom more slop and shart out mo' chilluns though.
