I remember being told about the "boomer generation" when I was a kid back in the 1970s. We were taught this in grade school. There were no other generations with names at that time. Originally, they taught that the boom began in the late 1930s because people started having more children after FDR's communist agenda was successfully implemented. The propaganda was that all the New Deal bullshit saved America.

The first time I saw reference to another named generation was in a book from 1991. That generation was Gen-X. In the book the boomers were still defined as having started in the late 1930s and ending in the mid to late 1950s. I've noticed over time, however, that the boomer generation keeps starting later and later. For example:
