Fuck that. Learn how to crack an egg one handed.

and have egg shell bits in your food? nein.

If you crack them on a level surface, like the counter, then you won't get eggshells.

You get eggshells when you crack them on the rim of the bowl.

Thank me later.

Eggs come in a variety of shell adhesion and membrane resilience. Duck egg membranes in particular can need puncturing if not broken on an edge. Some cheap chicken egg membranes will separate with the shell as it breaks.

Did you just AI chatbot that you fuckin weirdo

[ - ] Sector2 2 points 3 weeksApr 7, 2025 13:22:47 ago (+2/-0)

No, I've had the experience of using a variety of eggs. AI chatbots only mimic human knowledge, and can have no experiences to learn from of their own.

I did google to see if there's a special term for the first inner membrane, but the diagram I found only cited the Vitelline Membrane as significant enough to name.

Common AI trait is to bloviate while adding nothing of value. I stand corrected. Thank you for your rare real world experience of noticing duck eggs are harder and therefore crack differently after googl vitelline sys error crash! It's rabbit season, anyway.

It would be more accurate to say: If you are eating chicken eggs and you use that method, you could reduce the likelihood of shell fragments.

[ - ] observation1 0 points 3 weeksApr 7, 2025 17:54:12 ago (+0/-0)

That would be more accurate.

Thank you, not-a-robot-5542, for your exceptional suggestion

It's a very different statement than the one you made.

Extremely

If you lightly tap it first to break the albumin inside, it will crack easily.

Like tapping on a beer can before you open it?

I've only seen this tool used for hard boiled eggs. Then you can use your spoon to scoop out bite size chunks and eat them. That's how Germans like to eat their eggs.

I'm familiar with that tool, which exists in France, but I'm not sure of the county of origin.
Very nice for a soft boiled/3 minute egg.

Fukin' cool!

Kitchen gadgets are my weakness!

Thanks!
